costs and keep within a reasonable budget sure seems to be the need of the hour.
Couples often end up having to forgo something that they love just because it's
simply not affordable!
Now you don't need to do that with your wedding invitations. A wedding invitation
is the first thing that your guests will see and forms their first impressions about
your wedding, so you need to have a nice wedding invitation. But how can one do
that when trying to cut costs? Well, here are some tips that will help you to minimize
your wedding invitation expenses and still have a beautiful wedding invitation.
- Choose and place the order for the invitations at least 4 months in advance. Ordering
the invitations at the last minute and wanting the printer to do a rush job are
sure fire ways to considerably increase your invitation costs. So stick to your
wedding timeline guide and order the invitations early!
- Order about 25-30 extra invitations with your original order. Bulk orders at one
time will cost you much lesser than having to get extras made later.
- Omit having separate reception cards if you are having the ceremony and reception
at the same venue. Mention the reception on the main invitation itself.
- Make your own wedding invitations, either from scratch or do-it-yourself kits. These
will turn out a whole lot cheaper than store bought invitations, and will even look
much more personal to boot!
- Make a list of all the different types of wedding stationery that you require, such
as response cards, thank-you cards, place cards etc and order them along with your
invitations. This way you can negotiate for a better discount from the vendor based
on your bulk order.
- How about doing away with the response cards completely? You will save money on
the printing of the cards and will also save on the postage stamps that need to
be put on the response cards.
- Proof read your wedding invitation thoroughly. Read it from up, down, forwards,
backwards, inside out; anything to make sure that there are no mistakes. You don't
want reprinting done because of some error.
