We hope you'll never have to worry about postponing or cancelling your wedding, but just in case here are some guidelines of suitable wording

Family Bereavement

'Owing to the recent death of Mr Robert Baker, Mr and Mrs Jason Foster regret that they are obliged to cancel the invitations to the marriage of their daughter Helen to Mr Fancis Baker.'

For a Postponement

Owing to the illness of Mr Robert Baker, Mr and Mrs Jason Foster regret that they are obliged to postpone the invitations to the marriage of their daughter Helen at St Micheal's Church, Sandhurst, Berkshire. from Saturday 11th August to 1.00 pm on Saturday 18th September 2008.

Broken Engagement

Mr and Mrs Jason Foster announce that the marriage of their daughter Helen to Mr Francis Baker, which was arranged for 11th August, will now not take place.
