Wander through manicured lawns and take in waterfront beauty under rainbow skies, or maybe relax in a restored mill that radiates tranquility, whatever meets your needs for your celebration.

Make it Your Own

Everyone wants their wedding to stand out from the rest, to reflect theirs and their sweetheart’s style. There are many ways to achieve this on the big day, some slightly more tricky than others. A relatively simple one is through venue design. Setup and layout are the first steps: round tables or rectangular? Banquet seating or groups? You get this gist, a room can be easily transformed just by how you furnish it. Going a step further, look into floral decor. We married at the Wellington Arms in Stratfield Turgis on May 11, 2024. We had our ceremony outside in the rose garden, which looked stunning on the day. Our day was perfect and all our guests had a great time. Jemma and her team did a fantastic job organising everything in the lead up and on the day. The food was delicious and the service was great. Everything was taken care of and was perfect. A big thank you to the team at the Wellington Arms for making our day so special!

Basing House was exactly what my husband & I were looking for - an elegant all-in-one venue with character & the wow factor. We were lucky enough to have truly perfect weather which set everything off perfectly, but even in the pouring rain this place would be beautiful. The staff are wonderful - even though there were several wedding co-ordinators throughout our planning phase (through no fault of their own!), we were kept informed of everything & we were able to visit the venue whenever we needed to in order to plan effectively. Any questions we had were answered, but they didn't hover around us when we were setting up. The best thing about Basing House is its flexibility - you can really do whatever you need to make your dreams a reality. No corkage fee, no strict list of suppliers to choose from, flexible ceremony options, acres of grounds to take pictures - if DIY is your vibe, this place is for you. Best of all, they have limited weddings every year as it's open to the public the rest of the time, so it feels very exclusive. The barn itself is so beautiful we barely needed to decorate it, we just set up our tables & the gorgeous interior and fairy lights did the rest, our guests were truly blown away. Thank you Basing House for giving us the freedom to have our perfect day!

I was a guest at the wedding of Mr and Mrs Mays in April 2006, and I was very impressed, the hotel was not how I imagined it and I was very impressed with the decor and friendiness of the staff. The Manager on the Day Mr Butcher did an excellent job or ensuring every thing ran smoothly, and I think my niece was very taken with him!!!! I would have no hesitation in recommending the venue and am sure you will many good comments from other guests of the day.
