I actually gave this speech in July 2001. Your website was a great help to me in my hour of need. Sorry I never got round to posting it then. Giving this speech was the most frightening thing I've ever done, BUT, once you get going it's not too bad - but do try and read it through a few times first - everyone at work knew it as well as me before the day arrived. The 'upper hand' joike went a storm, the tie joke didn't, and the 'bride looks stunning' got a cheer and large round of applause, which relaxed me no end, as everyone is then 100% behind you.

The following speech took about 7 mins to deliver and was recieved brilliantly, it was a nerve wracking experience but with the right amount of preparation and the ideas I got from your website it was an enjoyable one!! My final toast has to go to 'hitched.co.uk' - thanks for your help!! (I hope you find space to include this speech on your site).

Just did the following speech yesterday which went down an absolute treat.... The prop with the 70's gear brought the house down..... People kept coming up to me all night congratulating me, I got such a buzz from it. Regards Tony Lannon

Hi there, I found your site a fantastic reference point when I got married in July 2001. Therefore I have no problem if you want to use my speech (attached as a Word document). I was the GROOM !! The speech went down extrremely well and all the guests found it very funny and enjoyable to listen to. I used your example speeches as well as lots of material from other sites to put this one together. There was lots of laughter and it couldn't have been received any better. Here is my speech which I gave just before Christmas. Although I was nervous, I remembered the advice from your site which helped me enormously. The speech got lots of laughs, and even a round of applause half way through. Many people commented on it being just the right length - approx 8 minutes. I think the key to the speech was memorising it - this gave me the confidence to concentrate on the timing of the jokes - otherwise it can sound like you're reading something from a cracker.! all the best
