Depends what type of purple you are thinking really, would need to see them together, i think aubergine might work tho

I was thinking a dark shade of purple, but i havent set my heart on any particular shade so am totally open to suggestions.

I recon that would work but I certainly wouldnt go any lighter, either that or pick a coolur out of the tartan like maybe the dark green

I'd say it'd go better with the dark green or, I know you say you don't like red but a really dark red like Maroon would be lovely

Feather I like that tartan which is it ? My oh can't decide what tartan he wants. He keeps showing me horrible green shades like the Celtic tartan but I hate the colour. I quite like the black watch tartan though. When u say u hate red, do you hate wine colour aswell or is it red red you hate ? I do like the dark purple u have flashed though!

Looney my OH was like that.. he's gone through several different ones but finally booked the pride of scotland tartan (he was told he could have whatever he wanted as long as it was either navy, purple or both!!

Its the MacGregor tartan, its really nice in "reallife" ?

I dont like most shades of red to be honest, the colour doesnt suit me at all. Im quite pale with red hair so any red shade makes me look ill.

That shade f purple of the shoes I orginally posted is my favourite shade.

I'd say a really deep red like red wine would suit you as well as the really dark purple surely? A colour like this one maybe? Also, I'm sure I've seen nicola roberts wearing red and carrying it off quite well?

I would say yes as the 2 colours when mixed make purple anyway. You could use a deep Purple or aubergine with it:

Sherrie - love the moodboard, you have convinced me to go with dark purple. The kilt does look really nice against purple, I got it out last night and put it against my purple bedding ?

XcitedLynn - the shoes I just googled "purple bridesmaid shoes" under images, and the came up. I havent bought them yet, I do really like them though.
