A Finishing Touch is a team of artists offering a bespoke, luxury service of hair and makeup design for weddings in Reading, Berkshire, in the southeast of England. Owner Catherine, is a dedicated artist who spends time getting to know her clientele and understanding their wedding vision. With over 12 years of experience as a wedding hair and makeup artist, Catherine founded A Finishing Touch to create naturally beautiful looks that instil confidence within her clients.

The team at A Finishing Touch consists of professional makeup artists and hairstylists who use their strong artistic ability to bring wedding day looks to life. An initial consultation with the team will allow you to discuss your visions and ideas for your event and can be followed up by a makeup and hair design appointment. The team uses the most exclusive products available and will work to source products for any specific needs or allergies. The philosophy at this company involves adding a calming touch combined with high-end products for an experience that will leave you looking and feeling your very best.
In addition to our primary service we also provide you with bespoke wedding morning timings to ensure everything runs like clockwork and none of your party feel rushed or overwhelmed. Using our extensive experience we fully understand all of the elements which go into a wedding morning; those moments where your flowers arrive at your room and your photographer is around need to be taken in so we always factor in the time for you to do so! I know it seems a little trivial, 2 or 3 minutes here and there, but it all counts when you've got to be heading down the aisle!
A professional hair and makeup artist will be one of your most important suppliers for your wedding day. Ensuring your hair and makeup stays in place from morning to the end of the night is vital to ensuring that you can stay relaxed and enjoy your day without worrying about having to nip off to apply touch-ups or re-pin any parts of your hair.

I highly recommend enquiries are made a minimum of one year-18 months before your date. However if you are within this time frame please don't worry, we will do our upmost to help!

You're in the best hands with Catherine! Highly recommend
Catherine and her team are absolutely incredible. Not only is she an incredibly talented hair and makeup artist that completely nailed the bridal look I wanted (and made my bridesmaids and our moms look flawless) but she also has the best presence ever. The morning of your wedding can feel chaotic but I didn't feel any of that with Catherine by my side. It truly felt like I had a good and reliable friend beside me to help keep me calm and excited in those precious hours before the ceremony. She was there until the final second and I knew from the first time I spoke with her that I was in good hands with Catherine. I was after a look that was "me on my best day" and she nailed it with a soft glam look that was still "me" but confident and ready to have the best day of my life. Thanks Catherine.

Such an amazing experience
Catherine and lily looked after me on our big day and I couldn’t be more happy! They were helpful, friendly and happy to change anything for me and my bridemaids. I can’t recommend Catherine enough, always in communication and I had to change our official wedding date several times 😂

Felt beautiful!
Catherine was a dream to work with, and from the moment we spoke on the phone she put any nervousness I had about the make up at rest. Our design appointment was really enjoyable, and on the day Catherine made all of the small tweaks I’d reflected on and made me feel like I looked incredible! Her and Cody also did a great job with my bridal party. I’d book A Finishing Touch without any hesitation.

Fantastic!
Catherine (and her team) are absolutely incredible! From my trial hair and makeup day to the actual wedding, Catherine was speedy on communication, thorough and gave me the exact look I wanted. My entire bridal party was so so happy with their looks as well!

Fantastic experience
From the moment I contacted Catherine and had my first call, I knew she was the right hair and makeup artist for my wedding! She put me at ease straight away and explained everything so clearly. There was no pressure to book and her work really fitted the look I wanted for my wedding.
From the first call, design appointment and emails in between, Catherine was quick to respond and help with any queries in the lead up to the day and I found the on the day timings super helpful!
Fast forward to the big day and Catherine and Rebecca were looking after myself, MOB and bridesmaids. Everyone loved their hair and make up and the team made us feel very at ease and calm on a very hot day! My daughter was over the moon with her hair too!

Absolutely wonderful
I have had the pleasure of Catherine/her team doing my hair and makeup three times - twice as a bridesmaid and then most recently as a bride. The team are consistently brilliant to deal with.
In terms of my own wedding, Catherine was responsive and reassuring in the booking process. I would really recommend a trial as this helped worked out what I did and didn’t want and Catherine was the right balance of receptive to ideas and also giving advice.
On the day, Catherine and Cody helped create a lovely and calm atmosphere, exactly as I had experienced when I had bridesmaid hair and makeup from the team. I felt really special as the bride and was over the moon with my results. My hair and makeup were amazing. I felt incredible but still like myself, and it lasted all day. I’m seriously amazed how well my hair lasted, even with my rather ‘lively’ dance moves but it did!

Catherine and her team are amazing!
I can’t thank Catherine and her team enough for the absolutely amazing job they did getting me, three bridesmaids, my mum and MIL ready for my wedding! Catherine truly went above and beyond the morning of the wedding and she was always quick to respond to any questions I had beforehand. Catherine, Cody and Sian also made each person feel relaxed, listened to what they wanted and everyone was so happy with the final result. I was also especially pleased with my hair and make-up, I never imagined my slightly unruly hair could look so good but Catherine worked miracles! The hair and make-up also lasted into the night without any touch ups needed. I would recommend Catherine and her team to anyone, they truly made everyone feel special and did an absolutely amazing job!

Amazing - I would highly recommend!
I hired Davinder from A finishing Touch to do my wedding hair and make-up, alongside my two bridesmaids and mum’s hair and make-up.
I was so pleased with my wedding hair! I felt so confident before walking down the aisle and I really appreciated all the advice and tips before hand (I bought some hair extensions as per Catherine’s/Davinder’s recommendations and they were so effective and looked so natural!)
Both hair and make-up lasted all day without the need for touch ups, I’m so happy with the service I received - everyone was so friendly and personable!

Catherine was wonderful!
Catherine was absolutely amazing as both my MAU and hair stylist for our wedding. The trial was great and Catherine made sure to talk me through everything ensuring i was happy with the final look, and noting all tweaks for the real thing! The finished look was everything i had dreamt of and more, I could not recommend Catherine and her team more highly. Nothing was too big of an ask, she was a joy to have around in the morning too, doubling up as not only doing my makeup/hair, but also reassuring me when I was clearly nervous!! Thank you so much!!!

Amazing, professional, supportive
Where to start? Catherine has been absolutely amazing. From making my none make up wearing mum feel totally comfortable and at ease, to being super calm and supportive on our big day, I cannot recommend of thank Catherine highly enough.
