I am a Mobile Make-Up Artist & Hairstylist for Brides & Bridal Party. Qualified with over 23 years experience. I will come to your home or venue which will help you feel relaxed & look radiant on your Wedding Day and also in your photos which will give you lasting memories of your special day. Free consultations are available.

I specialise in helping Brides feel beautiful and confident on their wedding day with flattering looks that are naturally beautiful and naturally glam.

I have experience of working with all ages of Brides and many hair types, lengths and skin types and tones. I especially love helping mature Brides look gorgeous on their wedding day no matter what age they are.

Makeovers By Melinda is based in Southampton and mainly cover Hampshire but I sometimes travel to the surrounding areas too. I offer a range of options for wedding groups please reach out to me or view my website to learn more about all my services.

What is included in the wedding package?

A Free Consultation, either in person or on Zoom / video call. The Brides Hair and Make-up is the main package and any extras are added on according to what help is required on the day

How far in advance should I contact you?

You are welcome to contact me a year & a half onwards from the wedding date, I usually take official bookings a year from the wedding but offer a Free Consultation before that if you would like one

Do you work at homes?

Yes

What is the charge for travelling?

Mostly travel is included in the package but I charge 50p per mile for some homes or venues which are further away or if I'm only required for the Bride or Mother of The Bride or Groom

What is your main business area?

Make up

Could you stay with the bride until the photo shoot?

Yes

How many people can you beautify for one wedding?

Depending on when the Bride needs to leave & what time the wedding is & who is having hair &/ or make-up. For a 12 or 1pm Wedding I could do 3 hair and make-ups. I have a team for larger groups

Can you provide your beauty services for pre-wedding and post-wedding photography?

Yes

Highly Recommended

Melinda did my wedding hair and make up back in October and I was so happy with it. I changed my mind about both my hair and make up a couple of times and she was very patient with me, even offering a discounted second trial. Her prices are also very reasonable considering what some people try and charge for weddings. I would definitely recommend her!

On a side note, she also taught me that you should brush your hair from the bottom up which has helped massively with my long, knotty hair! Thank you very much, Melinda and sorry it's taken so long to write the review!

Amazing experience

Melinda was so professional and lovely, put me at ease and gave amazing advice on skincare and what products would work with my skin type and colourings.
I shared ideas of up-dos for my wedding day that I had seen on Pinterest and Melinda did a fab job of bringing it to life. My hair stayed in place all evening… despite a lot of dancing!
I was so delighted with the results and felt happy and confident on our wedding day.

Fantastic!

Melinda did my hair and make up for my wedding. She made me feel wonderful, her professionalism and knowledge is incredible and she really listened to what I wanted. I highly recommend Melinda. She is fantastic at what she does and she’s the most loveliest person ever.

After getting in contact with Melinda, her prices for hair and make-up were good, and well below what I had been quoted from someone else. Melinda was very professional and friendly, and was able to create exactly what I wanted for my wedding day, and that was a miracle as I was a very fussy bride! For my make-up Melinda managed to work around my tears on the day, and make me look fresh and pretty! My hair I loved, and Melinda was able to blend in extensions to my hair for extra volume. Everyone commented to me "your hair looks so lovely, who did it?" I couldn't wait to take my veil off so that I could show my hair off to everyone! I would have no problems recommending Melinda to anyone for a special occasion.

5 star recommendation!

Melinda has done my hair and make up twice. Once when I was a bridesmaid and then recently when I was the Bride! On both occasions, both hair & make up was perfect and received many lovely comments. Melinda''s calm but organised nature made the wedding preparation relaxed and stress free!

I was touched by Melinda''s professionalism and calm nature

Melinda put alot of time and effort into mine and my bridesmaids hair and make-up for my Wedding on Sat 7/7/07. It was such a beautiful and special occasion. I was touched by her professionalism and also her calm nature which helped me emensely before the ceremony. I am so happy that I made a great decision in having Melinda on my Wedding Day.

My hair and make-up looked wonderfull even at the end of the night!

My hair and make-up looked and it actually looked the same at the end of the night too! The bridesmaids looked fab too as did my mum who especially liked the make-up Melinda did for her. It was lovely to feel pampered on the big day! 17/2/07

I felt like a Princess...

Melinda did a great job with me and my bridesmaids, I would definitely recommend her. I really felt like a Princess and everyone I work with couldn’t believe how I looked as I’m normally in shirts and trousers! My husband said wow when he saw me.

Our hair lasted til 5am!

Melinda did such a superb job on all our hair - we loved the styles and they lasted until 5am in the morning when we finally left the party! I shall certainly be recommending her to friends and family.
