Julie was so amazing, she listened to what I had in mind and picked out some different dresses that I maybe wouldn’t have tired myself but loved all of them. She has so many beautiful dresses to choose from but I found the perfect dress!

The team at gatehouse brides are absolutely phenomenal. From the day I first stepped into the shop to choose my wedding dress to the day I officially got to wear it on my big day I felt like I was a princess. The team treated me with kindness and importance throughout my appointments. The one thing I think is absolutely key when choosing your wedding dress is to ensure that the experience is all about the bride. This happened to me everytime and the team would be on it in making sure everything was perfect and that I was happy! If I had any questions no question was a silly question and I always left the shop after each appointment feeling reassured and one step closer to all the planning coming together smoothly! I also took my bridesmaids to shop for their dresses and their experience was exactly the same as mine! Gatehouse brides have and always will do me proud and I cannot recommend them enough to choose your wedding dress with ❤️

First the positives: the dress my daughter chose was stunning and the alterations were perfect. The dress was delivered on time – I would expect no less from spending nearly £2000 on a dress and veil. However what I think you are also entitled to expect – especially when dealing with emotional brides in the run up to a wedding, is a high degree of professional service with no mistakes to cause additional stress. This unfortunately was not our experience. I persuaded my daughter, who lives in London to choose a bridal shop near home in Worcester, as this would mean her visiting us and sharing a nice mother daughter experience with the fittings. I now regret this. From the date of the order in November, my emails were not answered until finally I texted the owner. My emails had mysteriously not been received and when they were found, the owner attempted to reply by emailing herself from julie@gatehousebrides.co.uk to info@gatehousebrides.co.uk! My daughter came home for an arranged dress fitting in May, only to find the seamstress had no record of the appointment because the owner had missed her email confirming the date and time. The dress was not there so no fitting and a wasted journey. An extra appointment was arranged and generous compensation given with reassurances that this had never happened before. The final fitting was booked in June so another journey up from London, but unbelievably, the seamstress phoned to say she had mistakenly left my daughter’s dress at home due to confusion with another bride who had cancelled. Again profuse apologies and assurance that this had never happened before. The owner then offered to deliver the dress to our home which she did, immaculately packed in a box exactly matching aircraft carry on baggage dimensions. However it is clear this needs to be slightly smaller as my daughter was challenged at the airport when the box did not fit in the Ryanair measurement cage. All this has caused my daughter and myself a lot of unnecessary worry at an already stressful time and taken all the pleasure out of the process. Gatehouse brides seem to be overreaching themselves and making mistakes. Perhaps more staff need to be taken on….

I picked my dress two years before our wedding. I was made to feel so comfortable and got to try on so many dresses until we found the one.

Julie was so patient when I came back for dress fittings and really got to know me and my mum. She helped us with advice for the dress and the wedding day.

She really made us feel at ease and made the dress experience even more enjoyable. I wish I could wear my dress everyday ❤️🥹
