This shop pushed so heavily to make a sale, I was pushed into paying a deposit for a dress I didn't really like. I was choosing the dress fairly last minute and she was making me panic saying that I didn't have time to sleep on the decision and that if I don't pay now then someone else could buy the dress that same day. I was so distresses I paid the money and then inevitably changed my mind a few days later. They would not refund the money and I had to go to the bank for a refund. Absolutely vile shop, I've warned all the brides I know about it.Alta Costura Bride's reply:
We take our customer’s satisfaction very seriously. I'm sorry to hear that you are so unhappy, and felt you needed to leave this review. However, from our point of view our experience was very different.
You came to our shop in August for a last-minute wedding dress, needed for September. You found a dress you seemed very keen on. Far from pressuring you, we encouraged you to go away and have a think about it, and you and your companion left the shop to go to a coffee shop for a while to chat over your options. You then returned later the same day, having decided to go ahead with the gown. Our terms and conditions of sale were read and signed, which include deposits being non-refundable, as is standard policy in most bridal shops.
We accommodated your alterations with our seamstress, which would need to be done within a short space of time. Shortly before your fitting date you called up and said you'd changed your mind about the dress and expected a full refund. We offered for you to come back in and re-try the dress, or to exchange it for another one. We also offered accessories to the value of the deposit paid as an alternative, because we thought you might have already purchased another dress. You turned down all these options. You then attempted a bank chargeback for the deposit. The bank found in our favour on this, as we were simply upholding the terms of our contract.
In none of your correspondence did you ever mention feeling pressured by us into making a decision, and it is clear from our many positive reviews that say the exact opposite that this is not how we treat our brides.
I am genuinely sorry that this didn't work out for you, and feel we really did try to help. We would have liked the opportunity to find you an alternative dress that you loved. We hope your wedding went well, and wish you all the best.

Would definitely recommend for your wedding dress. Felt very welcome every time I went in for alterations or to pick up accessories. So many choices to choose from and no pressure to buy there and then. -

I booked my appointment for my wedding dress and had my appointment today after having a really disappointing appointment at another bridal store previously. I was worried there wouldn't be dresses I liked and I would fit in (being plus size). Lucy was brilliant, she was patient, she listened to everything I was saying (even when I did pull a complete 180 and go back on myself!) and then got me tissues when I cried in my dream wedding dress. Thank you so much for making me feel so special and helping me find my dream dress! -

I had the best experience at Alta Costura. I got married last month, and had so many compliments on my dress, how unique it was and how well it fitted. They had a huge range of dresses and Sarah was fantastic, giving me all the time I needed to try on dresses and moving me towards my dream dress based on what I liked and didn't about others I tried. She also ordered me the PERFECT size so I didn't need any alterations, saving me hundreds!! The staff were so helpful, communication was fantastic the whole time and I'd definitely recommend anyone to shop there! -

My experience with Alta Costura Bride is nothing but positive!
I was incredibly anxious about dress shopping, very self conscious and convinced it would be super stressful. I am so pleased to say that I was so wrong and had no reason to be anxious; my bridal consultant Sarah welcomed me in on my first appointment and was with me for every appointment/fitting that I had, she listened to what I had to say, reassured me, allowed me the time and space needed to process things and offered her support and advice.
All of the other lovely ladies working in the shop were just as wonderful, they were all excited to see me trying on my dress and loved chatting to me about my wedding. The entire vibe and atmosphere was so warm, welcoming and friendly which was so comforting and helped me feel so much less anxious.
I am thrilled to have found my dress at Alta's and to be an ACB Bride!! Thank you Alta, Sarah and the entire team, you really are wonderful.Alta Costura Bride's reply:

I was extremely nervous to find a wedding dress. I was recovering from a surgery, getting used to a new body shape and getting stronger after an injury and truly thought I’d, at best, find something I wouldn’t hate.
Instead the ladies made me so comfortable and happy that I found my dream dress - it had pockets ;)
I laughed my way through my appointment and enjoyed every second.
Each corresponding appointment was a joy and I have recommended them to every other bride I know. -

Fantastic service from these guys. Everyone on the team were incredibly friendly and complimentary. Myself and my partner were helped by the lovely Jo who was so helpful and made choosing a dress very special. They even helped with keeping the cost down and very generously helped with storing our dresses and dry cleaning. I'm beyond happy with the service given and the amount of beautiful dresses to choose from. I would always recommend Alta Costura... Every. Single. Time. Thank you so much for everything.
