I had originally planned to just go to a Wed2Be store for a cheaper wedding dress, but had heard from others that it was lacking the ‘experience’ element. After some searching initial online, I decided to take the plunge and book an appointment at WLP and I was not disappointed.
Following my booking, I exchanged several emails with Shauna who asked lots of questions about how we got engaged and what styles I might be interested in. The process (first appointment right through to collection day) was also clearly explained to me. It was lovely to have the option to add drinks on to the booking.
On the day of the appointment I was greeted by Jacqui herself, and made to feel special from the start, with signs already out to welcome me personally. The team at WLP did an excellent job at accommodating my rather large entourage. I was introduced to my consultant Claire who encouraged me to look through the rails and pull out 4-5 dresses to try on first, then we’d go from there. I was quick at changing so was able to try on so many beautiful dresses during my appointment (9/10) but I kept coming back to two that I had tried in my initial selection. I was given time to revisit these and spend some time in each to get a real feel for them and to test walking and sitting. Claire stepped away to give me and my group privacy at this stage.
I said yes to a strapless, sparkly Maggie Sottero with a slit and pockets! It was princessy, timeless and yet modern all at once. The slit helped me to regulate my temperature mid-August and added a fun element - particularly on the dance floor. The pockets were a surprise to all (also a subtle nod to Doctor Who) and gave me somewhere to put my awkward hands for pictures! I’ve not seen anyone else with a dress quite like this, which makes mine feel special.
After saying yes, we celebrated with a popper and Polaroid. I was given a lucky sixpence and was sent a postcard about a week later welcoming me to the WLP club. The best wedding dress shopping experience I could have had, and I felt so confident in my dress on the day - it definitely had the wow factor ✨

Perfect wedding dress shop
My experience at White Lace and Promises was absolutely unforgettable! The staff were incredibly warm and attentive, going above and beyond to help me find the perfect dress.
I wasn't hopeful about finding a dress I loved, but the team listened carefully to my vision and went the extra mile by ordering in specific styles for me to try. The boutique itself is stunning, with a beautiful selection of gowns to suit every taste.
From the moment I arrived, I felt special thanks to thoughtful touches like a welcome sign and treats. Their communication was excellent, and they were happy to accommodate additional fitting appointments.
I wholeheartedly recommend White Lace and Promises to any bride-to-be.

Purchased my dress in the sale last September, we're not getting married until April 2025 so was only going to have a look but all of the dresses were absolutely stunning and Shauna was amazing! (In fact all of the ladies are!)
Was made to feel very comfortable and have been back a few times to try on and each time I have had the same experience.
In fact I'm sad that I'm not due to go back until January now, a very long 7 months to wait.
I went back in the sale to get some jewellery with my mum and got the most beautiful accessories for incredible prices.
