The staff are lovely and can’t do enough for you, it’s a lovely bridal shop with a good variety of dresses at a range of prices

We drove 2 hours to come to this shop in which I found a dress I absolutely fell in love with, the morilee striped milly dress. The first appointment was a dream with Christine and trying on dresses, the second appointment is when the trouble started. Unfortunately I got there and the dress ordered in for me was the wrong dress meaning my options were either to wear the dress they keep on the shelf as the try on dress or keep the wrong one as it was so close to the wedding, I kept shelf one. We had a ribbon attached to the middle to help with the seam and tried it on one last time and took it home, when taking it out the bag we saw a hole in the back of the dress with a stain and a needle still left in it, my mom took it back where the seamstress had informed her she did know about the hole and failed to declare it, the stain was removed but as this was 3 days before the wedding nothing could be done about the hole and that we need to remember it was a try on dress which we got alterations costing up to £600 for free. This angered us greatly as the alterations done wouldn’t of needed to be done if the correct dress did arrive which the correct length and we never intended to have a try on dress in the first place.
At the end of the day, I wore the dress and I looked beautiful, the hole did rip further but you only wear the dress once and it was perfectly imperfect.

Cotswold Frock Shop made the whole process easy from start to finish. I walked in not knowing what sort of dress I wanted and left with my dream dress which is far better than I could have imagined. I used the in-house seamstress for my alterations which were expensive but she did a great job. Nearer to my wedding I noticed that the straps weren’t as tight as I would have liked and they fitted me in the next day to get it sorted. Lovely shop with a wide variety of dresses.

Ruby was lovely, understood what I was looking for and helped me find my perfect dress. I wasn’t expecting to find my dress at Cotswold Frock Shop as, at the time, I found the dresses online a bit dated. Having looked now, they have updated it with lots of new styles so that’s good.
I have a few things that would have made the process of buying my dress (and parting with £2k) more special.
- I am a size 14-16, of all the dresses, only one even came close to doing up. They were all size 10 at a guess. This made me feel huge.
- there was no special “you found the dress” moment. I would have loved a photo with my mum and a little “I said yes” photo op.
- they only take new dress appointments on Saturdays and are open 10-4:30 week days. I struggled to get any time off to collect my dress as it arrived much quicker than anticipated (which is great) and so they did stay open later for me to collect it but I felt very rushed out. Just one evening open to 7 for example would be good for collecting dresses. Yes you’ve already sold it but some after care would have felt nice when it’s such a huge purchase.

All in all very happy with my dress.

Ruby was incredible from the moment I arrived - made me feel so comfortable and relaxed, I could have stayed for hours and hours. We found my dress straight away, the only advice I had given was that I was self conscious of my arms and stomach area but open to all dresses. The dress I ended up purchasing was the first dress I tried on, and I can let wait to try it on again and again and again! Thank you for making my first dress shopping experience so good I didn’t want to go anywhere else!
