My wedding cake was a dream come true. Exactly what I wanted, including my choice of unconventional flavours

Toni is an amazing wedding cake. decorator our concept was 1920s and we wanted an art deco inspired cake and yes we wanted six tiers. she was able to make the cake that we wanted and it was the centrepiece and show piece of our wedding. highly recommend her

Toni is a very talented lady. She made our wonderful wedding cake and it was a hit. Not only did it taste amazing (comments said by our guests) but it looked beautiful too. Toni was very patient with my various changes in flavours but the final three - lemon and blueberry, salted caramel and white chocolate and raspberry were utterly gorgeous. She even popped round with some samples, which were beautifully packaged. Our cake was reasonably priced and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Toni to anyone wanting a show stopping cake or to use Toni again (for birthdays of course as I’ve no intention in getting married again 😄). You know how you see gorgeous cakes and worry they won’t taste good? I am not a huge cake fan and had that worry and oh word I was blown away. We had three tiers, chocolate, Genoa sponge and carrot cake. All three were heavenly. I’m not a huge chocolate cake fan but we got that as it’s normally a crowd pleaser and when I tried it I ended up hiding a huge slice because it was so so good. The Genoa sponge was the biggest tier and we ate that for a few days after and shared with family. The amount of fruit was perfect. The carrot cake was also sublime. I regularly think about ordering a cake just because! The decoration was EXACTLY as I specified and looked so much better than I had imagined.

Moving on from the actual cake and taste, Toni was amazing. I live in a super rural location which maps doesn’t take you to even if you put in the address. We had our reception there and in the chaos of the day I didn’t actually answer the phone to help Toni find us, she didn’t complain at all and happily sorted the final bits on the day.

For the work that went into the cake and how delicious it was, I don’t begrudge paying what feels like a lot of money. When you compare across the cake was amazing value for money and I actually think should have been more expensive.

A Spoonful of Sugar was recommended to us by a friend who had used Toni for all her cakes. From the initial email enquiry to receiving the cake, dressed beautifully for our wedding - the whole experience was just perfect. I had some queries that would "undo" what we'd previously agreed, and ultimately I didn't got through with them, but Toni was completely unflustered and answered my questions quickly offering her professional opinion, which of course, was the best way forward! Our cake was stunning, we wanted it simple, but with lots of flavour, "semi-naked" and dressed with our flowers. It was quite literally everything we wanted! Our guests loved it and we were able to freeze some to have when we got back from our Honeymoon. I would most definitely ask A Spoonful Of Sugar to make any cake we want in the future and I totally recommend Toni to everyone, and have done on many an occasion subsequently!

The perfect cake for our perfect day, looked amazing and all three layers (fruit cake, Carrot cake and Red Velvet) tasted soo good!
