Den Bake Shop is a wedding cake design company based in North West London, England. After creating her first traditional honey cake, owner Maxine has had a deep love for baking ever since. She now designs a variety of desserts in her home bakery to help her clients complete their wedding day experience. If you're looking for someone to create flavoursome, semi-sweet creations that blend traditional and unique tastes with a Caribbean flex, Maxine is ready to be your baker.

Services Offered

Den Bake Shop can customise multi-tier wedding cakes to suit an array of aesthetics, from sleek, elegant looks to colourful, abstract designs. You will have multiple cake and icing flavours to choose from, which you can select during your private cake tasting. In addition to the main cake, Maxine can also create sweet canapes and additional desserts, including cake shots, macarons, and meringue kisses.

How much notice do I need to give you?

Book in up to 18 months in advance with me - around 8 - 12 months is ideal. If you're a Londoner who's stuck and cakeless with a month to go, do get in touch and I'll see what's possible

Do you deliver?

Yes, yes. I deliver within a 60 mile radius of NW London. I charge £2/mile + the London Living Wage/hour for time to and from the venue. My fee includes set up at the venue, location permitting

Do you hire cake stands?

Yes

How many tiers can my cake be?

Usually up to five, depending on the height of each tier

How many flavours can I have on my cake?

I usually offer one flavour per tier, so it's up to you!

What are the forms of payment?

You can settle your invoice via bank transfer or PayPal. Den Bake Shop takes a 50% booking fee to secure the date and the rest can be settled up to 14 days before the big day

What areas do you cover?

I deliver to a 60 mile radius from my base. That takes in a good deal of Essex, Kent, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex. Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire and Suffolk

Wedding cake joy - full on feast for the senses!

I’ve got to say, we absolutely nailed it when we asked Maxine to be our wedding cake maker!!! She totally captured our vibe and turned it into the most brilliant cake—a true sensory delight in all the ways! With uniquely delicious flavours, textured layers, bold colours, mix-and-match tier shapes, and flashing disco lights!!! YES! Actual flashing disco lights!!

I LOVE cake (a lot!) so getting the cake right for our wedding day was important to me. Maxine rolled with our ideas with enthusiasm and skilfully consolidated them into the perfect cake concoction. I wholeheartedly recommend Maxine to anyone looking for a cake that perfectly captures their style and adds a memorable, creative spark to their celebration. Thank you, Maxine, for creating a wedding cake that was one of the highlights of our day. It was fabulously vibrant, totally tantalising and captured the spirit of our celebrations down to a T!

Wedding cake - May 2024

We met Maxine at a wedding fair and as soon as we tasted some cake samples we knew we wanted to work with her to create our wedding cake! She was so helpful in coming up with design ideas, taking our vague thoughts and creating something beautiful. I would wholeheartedly recommend Den Bake Shop to anyone!

So good we went back for seconds!

We met Maxine at a wedding fair and she made a great impression on us as did her delicious samples. We booked her for our first (Hindu) wedding and the cake was so good we also came back a second time and booked her again for our second (CofE) wedding! Both cakes were amazing and exactly what we wanted. Maxine was on hand at all points of our journey and we couldn't of asked for better customer service from our initial planning meeting right through to delivery. We will definitely be returning for our daughter's first birthday.

Bets wedding cake ever!

Maxine was amazing at listening and understanding our brief. She was also very creative in her delivery. We had a three tier cake equivalent and each of the cakes were delicious! We could not pick between them and our guests were blown away. We loved them so much we had cake for breakfast the day after our wedding!
