I have loved baking ever since I was a little girl. I used to sit and watch my mum baking and decorating cakes, making cookies, and so many other things. I would dream of having my own little kitchen and copying what she did, convinced that one day I would be as good as she was. My mum was a true inspiration to me and will always be. Being a cake maker was my dream. My mum suggested starting up a business once; it's something I never had the courage to do. Now, I've made the leap. As my mum suggested, I wanted her to be part of it, hint my company name is Slice of Heaven. I haven't been up and running for long, but I have had a good amount of business for someone new to the industry.
I am based in Thatcham, West Berkshire and cover the surrounding areas of Hampshire, Oxfordshire and Wiltshire. I offer collection, or I can deliver depending on the location, but I am always willing to discuss when it comes to that point.
I don't have a lovely coffee shop or local store, but I have an amazing kitchen filled with love and passion for all the products I make. I make a range of products, and this is constantly changing. I have brownies, blondies, stuffed cookies, double cookies filled with delicious frosting, flapjacks, rocky roads, and shortbreads, and those are just the tray bakes that I make! I also make birthday cakes, cupcakes, fondant iced cookies, wedding cakes, wedding and party favours, sweet bags, fudge, bridesmaid proposal biscuits, and so much more. I have recently started providing bakes for corporate clients for their staff days or as gifts for their clients. The most fantastic thing is that bakes and cakes are so versatile; they can be used for so many different occasions. My website offers postal boxes, which are very popular and easy to do, again for any reason.
I strongly believe that if you are providing a service for someone, it has to be perfect. I can tailor all of my products to a theme and love bouncing ideas around with customers to ensure they get exactly what they want, whether for a party, wedding, market, corporate gathering or a seasonal event.
I pride myself in being a professional owner, friendly, always happy to find ways to create the perfect event, punctual and most of all, I only take on what I can realistically manage. I like the idea of giving my customers the time they need and having that personal connection with them.
But the greatest thing that I love about my job is that everything that comes out of my kitchen is handmade by me and only me; it means that the same amount of precision and care goes into every single bake.
