Southwell Cakery are award winning wedding cake makers based in Nottinghamshire. Supplying beautiful cakes, cookies, macarons, cupcakes, and brownies across the East Midlands and beyond. Highly experienced and talented in-house designer will listen to your ideas of style, theme, presentation and flavours. They will convert your dreams into what will sure be the centrepiece of your wedding evening.
Managed by Ruth Harmer, Southwell Cakery are a preferred supplier to a number of wedding venues, and are recognised consistantly year after year with many industy awards.
Products offered
They are delighted to welcome you by appointment to their Southwell studio where you can sample what they have to offer. Consultations are held either in person (Outside of wedding season), or via a Zoom call. Cake sample boxes are available to collect or can be shipped to UK adresses.

Gorgeous cake
We hired southwell cakery for our wedding last month and it was everything we asked for. We had a three tiered sage green/marbled cake which fitted our theme and vision perfectly. With three different flavoured layers, they do so many amazing flavours that it was difficult to choose. Ruth was so helpful and easy to deal with, we wouldn't have chosen anyone else. Thankyou

Faultless service and an incredible cake
Ruth made me a small wedding cake to top a stack of donuts my son’s wedding last Sunday. It was beautiful and extremely delicious! She was so helpful with tips and advice on storage before the wedding and also transportation. I would highly recommend her to anyone and will certainly call on her services again

Exceptional

Mmmm jolly tasty cake!
From the tasting and discussing ideas stage, to refining our order and producing the cake itself, Ruth was a joy to deal with. We’ve had so many compliments about how the cake looked and tasted - the only tricky thing is trying to decide which tier was our favourite flavour as they were all super yummy!

Just perfect!!
Ruth was absolutely amazing!! We had a 4 tier cake with three different flavours and each of them were amazing!! Our guests absolutely loved the cake. The service provided was exceptional. We had very little idea about how we wanted our cake to look but sent over some bits that matched our wedding theme and left in the hands of Southwell Cakery - the final result was stunning!!

Delicious wedding cake
We chose Ruth to make our wedding cake in July 2022 after we tried her samples, which she kindly hand delivered to our venue for one of our wedding meetings. Ruth was really easy to work with and held a Zoom call to talk through the exact look we wanted and to finalise the details. The cake turned out exactly as I envisaged it and looked great. We chose a different flavour for each layer - Vanilla Sponge, Cookies n Cream and Lemon - and they all tasted amazing! Would highly recommend Ruth and Southwell Cakery.

Best wedding cake ever!
Southwell Cakery gave us a wedding cake better than the picture we gave :) Looking for something untraditional and matching our personalities whilst adding a little fun to our day we were blown away with the precision of our LGBT rainbow cake. Best of all, it was delicious!

Outstanding through and through
Ruth was absolutely fantastic throughout our booking with her for our wedding. Always so professional and patient with me when I changed my mind on the design several times! Flawless service and honestly the best cake we had ever tasted. We even have the top tier still in our freezer ready for our 1st anniversary. Our guests also commented on how beautiful it was and how delicious each flavour was. We also got cookie favours for our day guests which were so yummy too! Would always go back to Ruth for any future cake/sweet treat order. Thank you

The dreamiest of cakes!
Ruth's cakes are so delicious, beautiful and unique all in one go! Ruth was very accommodating in moving our booking when my husband fell ill meaning we had to cancel our wedding 4 days before. A pleasure to work with, thank you Ruth!

Fantastic wedding cake
Ruth at Southwell Cakery did a fantastic job for our wedding cake. The flavours were beautiful and it looked great. All the guests said it was great and there was nothing left, other than the top tier which we've saved for ourselves. Would definitely recommend.

Over the moon with our wedding cake
We have a fabulous experience using Southwell Cakery as our wedding cake supplier right from the initial consultation to the big day. Ruth was very helpful and really took on board what we wanted for our special cake. We were offered a wide range of flavours to choose from - in fact the only issue we had was choosing which ones we wanted for our 3-tier cake as they are all so delicious.
We were blown away when we saw the cake on our wedding day - it was so beautiful and everyone commented on how delicious it was. Needless to say, we didn't really have chance to freeze any of it as every last crumb was devoured. Thank you Southwell Cakery for helping to make our day so special.

Best cake ever
Our wedding cake was to die for. It looked beautiful and tasted even better. Many of our guests said it was the best cake they’d ever had and we thought so too. Highly recommend Southwell Cakery!
