Based in Billingshurst, West Sussex, Claire Owen Cakes creates beautiful, bespoke cakes and sweet treats for wedding celebrations and special events. Company owner and talented baker Claire Owen holds a First Class degree in Fine Art Sculpture and spent 10 years assisting artists to curate public art installations. Since 2011, Claire has utilized her talents to create edible art in the form of beautiful and delicious wedding cakes.

Services Offered

Claire Owen Cakes provides a thorough consultation to get to know you and your wedding cake ideas. Claire creates each cake design from scratch in line with your overall vision for your day. She offers a wide variety of flavours to choose from, including lime gin & tonic, pistachio and rose, red velvet, chocolate orange and many more. A range of dietary requirements can be accommodated for your cake. These can include gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan cakes. In addition to delightful wedding cakes, Claire can also craft a selection of sweet treats and dessert displays for your occasion. These include macarons, mini cakes, meringue kisses, and iced biscuits.

Fab wedding cake

Claire made our wedding cake recently and it was amazing! She met with us on Zoom, drew us our design and sent us the most delicious tasting cake samples we’ve had in a long time.
After receiving these, we knew the actual cake would be fab. Unsurprisingly, our wedding cake went down extremely well at the wedding, with many guests going back for extra slices and we received so many lovely remarks about it. Would 100% recommend Claire and will no doubt be seeking her services again in the future!

Wow, more than we could have expected!

Where to even start. designing my wedding cake with Claire was an absolute joy. Having started with very few ideas beyond something traditional with a twist, Claire really helped to draw out from me and my fiancé exactly what would complement our day. She gave advice on how large our cake needed to be (as we were serving it for pudding) as well as tips on what cake stand would work well!
The cake tasting itself was swift, and we were able to do so during the winter lockdown with samples sent perfectly in the post. Exquisite flavours and flexibility to really personalise too.
We settled on gin, lime and tonic and a pistachio and rose water – it really stood apart from other wedding cakes and guests commented on how delicious it was!
On the day, the cake really took my breath away (as cliché as that sounds) and made our day so special. Beautiful sugar paste flowers, watercolour detailing, and gold leaf all came together to make a perfect classic cake with a twist. Well worth the money spent and Claire was professional, kind and supportive throughout. A great supplier!

Exceptional!

What a wonderful experience! We got married in July of 2021, and couldn't be happier with decision to go with Claire from Claire Owen Cakes. We had spent some time looking for the perfect cake, and Claire nailed it! From our initial consult, to the delivery of the cakes on the day, Claire made the experience seem so easy and seamless from start to finish. We opted for mini wedding cakes for each guest due to COVID-19. Her design and input were second to none. Not only did the cakes look and taste beautiful, Claire was able to cater for all dietary requirements, including extra gluten free and dairy free mini cakes for some of our guests. Thank you so much Claire, you are so talented and we loved our cakes!

A beautiful cake and great to work with

Claire produced a beautiful and tasty cake on our wedding day, and was great to work with throughout. First she listened carefully to our brief and produced great drawings from which we could get a good idea of the final product. We received a box of samples to choose our flavours (good range and all were tasty, we had a hard time choosing!) Finally on the day the set up was smooth and it looked beautiful and in keeping with the rest of the design and flowers. Worked well with our florist. Thank you Claire!

Delicious and beautiful wedding cake

Claire created the most beautiful and delicious cake for our wedding in June 2021. We were absolutely delighted with it. From initial contact she was fantastic, provided us with delicious samples to taste, and created a delicious and beautiful cake for on the day. 'We loved the cake so much'

Honestly our cake was even more than I could imagine! I didn’t even want to cut it. In this whole stressful planning you were most probably the most easiest person to work with. 'The cake was beautiful & delicious'

I want to take the time to say the cake was beautiful and delicious! Id love to have said the same for the pistachio rose but it was quite literally demolished and devoured by my cousins by the time we returned from the wedding....I don't know how... There were only 5 of them but hey that can only be a good thing ! I'm told it was amazing and given they managed to eat a whole tier I'll take their word for it!. Please know Rejwana & I are incredibly grateful and honoured for you to have baked our cake.

'We are so glad that we found you!'

Adam and I just wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you for our absolutely beautiful wedding cake! We had kept the design a secret and it got absolute rave reviews for the looks but most of all the taste of every tier!

We even took two chunks of it on our honeymoon so we could enjoy it more than once!

'Everyone was impressed'

I just wanted to say a huge thank you from both of us for the amazing job you did with the cake. Most of our guests kept poking it not believing it was real!

I hear it went down pretty well in the night, everyone was very impressed. I didn’t manage to get any on the night but there was a small chunk left that I’ve been snacking on ever since ha. Delicious!

'Best Baker in the World!'

What can we say… there are no words to describe how amazing the cake(s) where! It blew Jordan and me away when we first saw it and I couldn’t stop staring at it during the wedding breakfast!
