Event Boxes Ltd is owned and run by Alec Cruikshank who is based in Pitlochry with The Pizza Box being the first in a fleet of mobile gourmet dining experiences. Alec has been involved in food and drink for over 15 years now. He founded the award winning Scottish Deli based in Pitlochry and Dunkeld which he sold in its entirety 4 years ago. Since then he has been concentrating on Private Chef work for clients from across Scotland as well as running his own small holding where he grows as much of the produce as possible that he uses in his catering enterprises. He was named as Chef of the Year for the whole of Perthshire, Dundee & Angus and Fife in the Menu Food and Drink Awards in March this year and just recently was one of the demonstration chefs at the Dundee Food & Flower Festival alongside a number of ex MasterChef the Professional winners and finalists as well as other top chefs from across the region. Everything Alec does with food is based around the seasons and what he has been able to grow and forage himself. This does lead to some more unusual Pizza toppings! The Pizza Box is a converted Vintage Horse Box complete with a top of the range wood fired oven. Output is extremely fast with 6 pizzas being able to be cooked together in less than 2 minutes. This allows for events for up to 200 people to be catered for with ease buffet style. The Pizza Box is towed by a Landrover Discovery so events slightly off the beaten track – in fields, beside rivers, up mountains, next to a loch is as easy for us to do as setting up in a carpark on concrete. Event CateringEvents can be catered for from 25 - 200 people. For larger groups a buffet is much the best option. We have our own pop up marquees to set a buffet up in if necessary. Alternatively if you fancy something a wee bit different, we have a great working relationship with a local Yurt Maker who can supply a Yurt for you to have your event in. This is by no means set in stone - I would be more than happy to discuss with you in further detail the different options. · We are more than happy to cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, lactose intolerant and any other allergies / intolerances.
