Perfectly curated ceremony
David's ceremony captured our relationship and story so far perfectly. We wanted a celebrant who had conviction and presence without being too theatrical or corny and David certainly accomplished this. He made us feel at total ease during the planning process and was professional and courteous throughout. He even dealt with an intruding hornet halfway through the ceremony with such effect the whole congregation gave him a round of applause! We would recommend David to anyone who wants a ceremony with authenticity, laid back vibes and lots of personal touches.

We chose David as our wedding celebrant because he took the time to explain what the options were and he took the time to listen to what we wanted and adapted the ceremony accordingly
David's services helped to make our day more memorable and special.
What meant the most to us was when our 9 year old niece was giving her speech, he took some time to help her organise her notes beforehand so she could deliver her speech to the best of her ability. It was very touching!

So lucky to have found David!
We chose David to be our celebrant because his values for nature resonated with us and we thought he would be great since our ceremony was in the new forest. We feel very lucky to have found David and his service was outstanding. He walked us through step-by-step the process of planning a ceremony that would be personal to us, he was really kind throughout and did an amazing job on the day. We felt relieved to be in safe hands as he clearly knew what he was doing. The best part of David’s service was when he told our love story with the right amount of sincerity and humour that we wanted. We also opted for the hand-fasting ceremony which was really special and we’re so glad we did it. We would recommend David as he is generally a really kind person, he’s amazing at what he does and we feel very lucky and grateful to have found him to be our celebrant :)

Fantastic celebrant
We couldn’t have asked for a better celebrant in David. Right from the start he was welcoming, helpful and easy to talk to. The collaboration between us and him on our vows and service prior to the wedding went very smoothly. He allowed us to have plenty of creative freedom with creating our love story, as well as allowing us the flexibility to update or tweak any elements of our story or vows when needed.
He was very generous with his time on the big day, by turning up earlier than initially planned to put us at ease with our preparations, as well as being really friendly and approachable to our friends and family as they arrived. The ceremony itself couldn’t have gone better. David had lots of energy right from the outset and toed the line perfectly between fun and lighthearted as well as genuine sincerity where necessary. After the ceremony he didn’t rush off and stayed to mingle with the guests and have a celebratory drink with us before heading home. We had many guests coming up to us afterwards saying how much they enjoyed his ceremony and we couldn’t agree more with everything they said. Personal, warm and perfect celebrant.
We can’t thank David enough for the ceremony he provided for our special day. From the first message when we reached out David was very personable, made us feel comfortable and worked magic on getting us both to open up (we were both a bit scared!). The speech David prepared was perfect, not too serious but got across our love story in a lovely way. David also helped us with our personal vows and made sure we were on the same page. Following the ceremony our words were printed and presented in a lovely booklet which is a wonderful keepsake. We would recommend David to anyone who is looking for a bespoke, personable and warm ceremony. We couldn't have asked for any more.

Brilliant experience!
We chose David for our wedding day as he offered a range of different options and came across as super kind and helpful. From the start David was able to cater to our needs as an interracial couple, and had plenty experience in his field such that any request from us was not new ground. David has a very relaxing and peaceful vibe but is also very structured which worked well throughout the process of writing vows and doing all the logistics.
On the day itself, David was brilliant. I didn’t have to worry about the small details as he had it all covered. You can really trust David to deliver on his promises. The best aspect of David’s services was how he was able to really cater to our needs, revising the script even for the smallest details. I would wholeheartedly recommend David for any future couples, he really is excellent!

Perfect in every way
I always thought that the ceremony was the boring part of a wedding, but not at ours! David made it so interesting and personal to us. We had a meeting with him far in advance and so he knew all about how we met, and incorporated it into a really unique ceremony. He mentioned all the important dates and people, and kept it funny and engaging without taking away from the importance and of the marriage. It was really important to us that the ceremony didn't put people to sleep but also didn't feel informal or silly, and David struck the ideal balance. It was definitely everyone's favourite part of the day, and all our guests mentioned how they loved it. If we could go back and redo our wedding we wouldn't change the ceremony one bit, it was perfect to the letter.

Unforgettable experience
My husband and I chose David as our celebrant because of his warmth, professionalism and expertise in designing a ceremony that was personal to us. He helped us to create an unforgettable ceremony, taking the time to learn about us as individuals and a couple, and working flexibility with our unusual planning timeline. The outcome was a beautiful and moving start to our wedding which involved all of our guests and enabled us to both share our love and commitment to one another in a way that felt right for us. Personable, professional and just "got us"!
Like many people we had absolutely no idea what we were doing when we were planning our wedding, looking for a celebrant we completely felt like we were supposed to know everything about the whole thing.. thankfully David came along! We stumbled across his profile on Hitched and sent a message, easily arranged a quick intro meeting (thankfully we're also in Sheffield so it was as simple as him popping round for a chat but I've no doubt it would have been just as straightforward via zoom or the phone)
As soon as we met him we knew we were in safe hands, he made us feel that he'd done many marriages before but each one was special and this really helped us feel relaxed. We enjoyed chatting to him as much about our ideas for owls and readings as we did about his dogs and the Sheffield area, so it didn't take long to decided ( we both knew we wanted David as soon as we met him!)
Everything leading up to the ceremony was sorted, David knows his stuff and also knows that life gets in the way sometimes and writing vows, thinking of the perfect songs and everything else that goes into planning such a big day is so mind-boggling that his calm and professional nature was a godsend.
The day came and all our guests loved his demeanour and he really set the tone for such a wonderful day, nothing was too much for him. A couple of our guests have since said it was the best wedding they've ever been to and for that we must thank David for kicking it all off in right way!

Excellent!
David was a lovely celebrant. We had a couple of zoom calls to sort details as we lived in a different part of the country- David had lots of lovely ideas and was open to our thoughts. We were able to order our handfasting materials to him, so he could have a practise and it was something we didn't have to remember on the day! We were able to read through his script and make amendments as we wanted, and he helped us to write our own vows. We had a small wedding with just 13 of us, and David was very relaxed and humorous about our toddler trying to upstage him! There were so many thoughtful touches- he really made it a wonderful experience!

David was a huge part of our perfect day!
We were travelling in from the US to get married so relied on David for for the ceremony to run smoothly but also for him to guide us through the process which he did just perfectly. We had a few calls so that he could find out more about us and our story, he then put together a really lovely service that felt personal to us and what we wanted. Along the way he'd given us options and allowed us to choose the direction but also offered his advice given previous services. He never pressured us or chose for us, but his advice was really important as neither of us had a clue! On the day he was he friendly self & chatted to our friends & family whilst also liasing really well with the venue staff/photographers etc. We can't say anyhting but great things about David & our experience!

Perfect ceremony
We were fortunate to work with David Wills as the celebrant for our wedding in Oxford. My husband and I live in Australia but have strong connections to the UK so chose to work with David as we planned our wedding from overseas. David worked through the preparation with us. He was a patient guide to various options in terms of how we might conduct and tailor our ceremony. We were able to integrate our daughter into the ceremony at David’s suggestion - this was very important to us. On the day David was a wonderful celebrant, the ceremony was beautifully conducted and David calmly guided us throughout. We would highly recommend David, he made our special day truly special!
