Susan officiated our ceremony when we got married at Neidpath Castle in October. We are so lucky to have her as our celebrant. From our first video call, we just felt at ease and comfortable with her. Even on the months leading to our wedding, Susan has been very patient with us. She has been so kind and checking in on us, and had faith that we will get the admin tasks done. On our wedding day, Susan conducted a rousing ceremony, filled with funny anecdotes and shared touching moments of our love story. All of our guests commented about how our ceremony was so honest and personal, and wasn’t just an administrative process to become official. It was the first time for the majority of our guests to witness a wedding with Scottish traditions. When Susan performed the binding of our hands and as David and I tied the knot into a saltire, everyone was amazed. When she read the solemn words as we drank from the quaich, everyone was in awe. Even when I made a blunder with my official vows, Susan was patient and guided me through it. Of course, being David’s “comfort AND disappointment” would have been true, too. She could have left it that but Susan made sure our union is indisputable and that I said the right words that made it legal. I could go on and on about how perfect our ceremony was and how Susan played a vital role into that. Instead, I’ll end with this poetry.
An ode to Susan:

When David and I tied the knot,
Susan Miller was our wedding officiant.
Dressed in burgundy, she was so elegant;
Calm, warm, her words were eloquent.
Everyone listened, each word was relevant;
A rousing ceremony, she was so reverent.
Honest and personal, not at all regiment;
She certified we completed what’s pertinent.
She shared our funny and sweet sentiment;
Above all, she ensured love was the element.
Our day was soulful, of happiness so redolent,
We’re so lucky to have Susan as our celebrant.

Susan was our celebrant for our wedding at Rowallan Castle. We are from the US and Susan took the time to explain all the amazing Scottish traditions we could include in our ceremony. She met with us multiple times and went above and beyond to make our ceremony extremely personal. She had all the guests laughing (and crying!) and we honestly could not have asked for a better person for our ceremony. She also was incredibly helpful when we needed some extra help during our planning process. We are still getting compliments on the ceremony weeks later! Highly highly recommend Susan!

The minute it was over, I wanted to do it all again. Susan was incredible from start to finish. We only decided to get married with a 12 week window instead of going on holiday , I had seen Susans videos on Instagram(give her a follow) and we were over the moon that she was available on the only date we could get the venue. From our first meeting, Susan was enthusiastic and welcoming, especially helpful for 2 people who never thought they would get married and had no idea what they were doing. She kept us right on the right track with communicating important info in a timely manner when we had such a short timeframe. The actual day was incredible and we had so many compliments on the actual ceremony with people commenting it was one of the best and most original/interactive ceremonies they had been apart of. Susan gives you so many options to tailor the ceremony to your needs and we would highly recommend involving your guests when you can, as it really ties everything together for an experience you won't forget!

Susan conducted our wedding ceremony 2 weeks ago, and we are still getting approached by people saying it was the best wedding/ceremony they have been to! Absolutely hilarious, professional, supportive and made our ceremony exactly what we wanted. Right from the get go she was just amazing, when I first called her it was like speaking to an old friend you hadn’t caught up with in ages. Conversation just flowed & the time flew by.
Susan is so welcoming of all things, she’s non judgmental, she makes you feel so at ease & she laughs with you at all the embarrassing moments which was great especially as I have a Husband who enjoys putting his foot in it lol!!
She checks in with you often, accommodates your full ceremony to your own personal love story & is full of help, support, love, guidance & advice. From our wedding license to the morning of our wedding being there with smiles, hugs, guidance & compliments she really does go above & beyond.
Before our ceremony started she was greeting our guests, singing happy birthday to one of our guests, introducing everyone & getting everyone ready & excited for our arrival.
Our ceremony itself was filled with stories, laughs, tears, family & friends & so personal to us. I could not say my vows with tears, nerves & my voice shaking but Susan was there beside me whispering “just breathe, take your time”…… All our guests complimented on how fun our ceremony was & how there was no boring bits at all & so much so that one of my friends booked Susan immediately to do her ceremony next year.
