Hello thank you for taking a look at my profile. I am an award-winning Independent Celebrant based in Suffolk but my passport is up to date and I am more than happy to travel.
What does "Independent" mean? Well it is our license to have fun and the freedom to create a ceremony together that doesn't have to follow anyone else's rules or ideas of how your special day should be. Together we can create the ceremony you have always dreamed of or maybe one that you just didn't even realise you could have. You can hold your ceremony anytime, anyplace, anywhere, well maybe my skydiving days are over but do you get my point.
Which ever one of life's important milestones you are looking to celebrate I will be there to support you from the moment you book me.
Through emails, zooms and meet ups I will take the time to listen to you and get to know exactly what it is you want from your special ceremony. Through this fun process I gather enough information to write a draft script weaving the love you want to celebrate into every section. Once we have fine tuned it together, I will deliver your ceremony on the day in a calm, professional fun filled manner that you, your family and friends will remember and cherish for years to come.
In October last year I was honoured to be voted Outstanding Family and Couples Celebrant of 2022 by the Association of Independent Celebrants. I was completely blown away by this honour and the kind words of those who voted. My couples said that found me to be warm and caring with a good sense of humour. They considered me a safe pair of hands for their ceremonies, well I used to be a driving instructor so I have nerves of steel !!
It therefore goes without saying that my celebrant style really does reflect my inclusive personality. I really just love to celebrate love however it presents itself in your world. I understand how important your celebration is to you and how much love and work you have poured into it. I will be there for you and guide you through every step of the build up to your big day.

Setting the tone
Ruth met us throughout the year gathering our story on our wedding day she made everyone calm and confident setting the tone for the day

The best celebrant there is!
Choosing the celebrant to conduct our wedding was probably the biggest planning decision we had to make. We spoke to three different celebrants, but when we spoke to Ruth we knew instantly she was 'our person'. She was incredibly friendly and made us both feel very comfortable. Ruth took the time to schedule meetings, making sure she could understand exactly what we wanted and to get to know us so that our ceremony was personal to us. This even included a venue visit which made us both feel reassured and more confident for the day. She sent through questionnaires to us both separately, which was great fun, and she completely capture the essence of our relationship. So much so that we decided it wasn't necessary to write our own personal vows. We could relax and let Ruth tell our story and she did so with the perfect amount of emotion and laughter throughout. Ruth was reassuring and calming on the day and settled our pre ceremony nerves. I would highly recommend having a celebrant-led wedding and choosing Ruth to conduct it to any couple getting married. She made our day so so perfect. Our guests absolutely loved her too, it was lovely to have so many compliments on our ceremony. Thank you so much Ruth!

Perfect celebrant!
Wow, wow, wow. Ruth is one of the most nicest people we have ever met. From our very first contact, we absolutely loved Ruth and everything she stood for. We are so happy we decided to go with a celebrant and even happier that it was Ruth. We just clicked so well and felt so natural and comfortable. She made us both feel so welcome and all the help and support she gave us before the day was outstanding. As for the day, it was more than we could have ever dreamed of. All our of guests loved Ruth and she also felt like a guest. Thank you so much again Ruth, we could not be happier with how you conducted our day. You made our day even more special.

She will personally write your wedding script which isn’t genetic, it’s about you as a couple. She liaises with all suppliers involved in the ceremony to ensure everyone knows exactly what they are doing and when.
We told Ruth how we would like our service to run and she ensured that everyone worked together to deliver it and I have to say it was perfect!

Hired a celebrant, gained a friend! Made our wedding day magical!
What can you say about Ruth that countless others haven’t? As well as being utterly professional in every way you could feel how passionate she was about making our day as magical as could be. Her personality is infectious and everyone at our wedding waxed lyrical about how amazing she was. From our very first meeting to our wedding she guided us every step of the way and created the perfect script for our ceremony, she honestly made our day so special. Thank you Ruth!

What can we say?! Ruth did the most incredible job with our day from being on hand to help at any given moment, to coordinating with the other vendors at the wedding to make sure the day went as smoothly as it could possibly be.

Most perfect ceremony
This is my hardest review to give out of all of my wedding suppliers, as I really have so many wonderful things to say about Ruth and the service she gives.
From the very beginning she can’t not be more helpful and wholesome, I was initially drawn to Ruth’s buzzy magnetic energy, and really beautiful speaking voice and way with words (as previewed in her instagram) the additional help and support she delivered was such a pleasant surprise, and I think she offered the most additional support out of all of my suppliers. All of our friends and family have said that our ceremony was absolutely magical, one family member said Ruth was perfect as she like like and extension of me and my Husband. The unique touches she adds to a ceremony are top notch. I hold a very special place in my heart for this lady now and can not recommend her enough to any couple looking for a celebrant!!! Thankyou Ruth from the bottom of our hearts for conducting our whimsical woodland fairytale ceremony- you really were the cherry on the cake

Perfect Personalised Wedding
If you are looking for a personalised experience by someone whose attention to detail is faultless look no further than Ruth. We opted to have a celebrant because we wanted our day to be as special as possible and ruth exceeded our expectations. Ruth takes the time to understand what you are like as individuals as well as a couple to create a personalised wedding script which you will always have the final say on. Not only this but she is flexible enough to allow you to incorporate things that are outside the conventional ceremony. Whether its incorporating hand fastening to symbolise tying the knot, or perfectly timed dropping of metal washers symbolising the illusion of dropping the rings to give your best man a heart attack, Ruth will work with you to ensure every little detail is spot on. We can’t thank Ruth enough for helping to provide some of the most incredible memories which we will cherish forever.

The most wonderful celebrant!
We could not have asked for or imagined a better celebrant than Ruth to conduct our marriage ceremony. From our first meeting with her, she spent time getting to know us and was able to craft a wonderful script that captured our story and personalities perfectly. Ruth thought of all the details we wouldn't have - and was basically our overall wedding planner!! - and made sure that everyone who participated was prepped and comfortable before the day. On the day itself, she did a great job of making all our guests feel at ease and struck the perfect balance we were after of being light-hearted but taking this seriously too. We have had so many comments about how this was the best and most personal ceremony people have ever been to and this wouldn't have been the case without Ruth. We can't thank you enough and are truly grateful for all you did for us. Have a glass of sangria for us - you're not number 1 for nothing :D

Ruth is the celebrant of your dreams!!!
Choosing Ruth to be our celebrant was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding.
She gave us the perfect day and helped us with planning the ceremony from the moment we had our first conversation. In fact a lot of the planning was whilst we were in Canada and she popped on zoom whenever we needed her as well as visiting the venue together. She is so dedicated and kind, working hard to give you an extra special ceremony and we honestly cannot reccomend her enough.
It was like having a very talented member of the family conduct our ceremony with such happiness, love, emotion and fun. Every single one of our guests said it was the best ceremony they had ever seen and that they enjoyed every moment. Ruth not only worked with us to craft a beautiful script about our relationship and our lives, but also helped us to add extra details like a hand fasting moment, personalised vows and a poem read by Josh's mum.
She also helped us to feel relaxed about the ceremony and we felt so reassured that she would help solve any problems on the day. She has the sweetest heart and the most beautiful way with words. Ruth, we'll be thankful forever for all your kindness!

Amazing from start to finish
We met Ruth during an open day and although we hadn't thought of a celebrant, we couldn't stop thinking about Ruth. We changed our ceremony so that we could incorporate Ruth into our day. Ruth made everything feel real and helped in so many ways to bring everything together. Ruth really spent time to get to know us as individuals and as a couple. Ruth eased any nerves and made our wedding fun and personable. Ruth's personality is infectious and was a highlight for our wedding guests.

Hands down the best wedding decision we made
Wow, where to begin?! I need to start by saying Ruth is incredible at her job and if you don’t want to read a very lengthy review, to summarise: you should absolutely book her for your ceremony.
Myself & Zac chose a venue that required quite a lot of planning. We are also both very disorganised and for lack of a better word, lazy. Hiring Ruth is like a 2-in-1 celebrant and wedding planner. Her wealth of knowledge and experience of countless weddings is extremely helpful with all the small details you’re worrying about, like what ushers actually do (I’d never heard of an usher before I got married)!
Her brilliant organisational skills aside, Ruth is just a wonderful human being. Sometimes you meet people who are like a ray of sunshine, and Ruth is one of those people. As soon as we spoke to her, we instantly felt at ease, like we’d known her for years. The script she wrote for us was the perfect mix of personal, funny, wise, and summed us up to a tee. It’s rare to meet someone who is so passionate about their job, but Ruth really does put everything into her work and clearly loves what she does.
I could go on and on about how amazing she is, but genuinely, booking Ruth was hands down one of the best decisions we made for our wedding and she will always hold a place in our hearts. Thank you, Ruth.
I must also add, Ruth was also incredibly kind and patient when we were over an hour late to the venue for our initial meeting as my now husband directed us to a venue the other side of the county!
