I'm Janet and I work across the Southeast (and equally happy to travel further afield) and am at your service to discuss your dream wedding ceremony.
I am here to answer any questions and help you make those decisions about that important day! It is all about your experience and that of your guests, so my role is to create something memorable and then take you and your guests seamlessly through a heartfelt and meaningful ceremony, delivered in a natural and easy way that doesn't sound like I am reading a script!
What do I bring to this job? Well, my background as a teacher turned professional opera singer, means I have years of experience of making connections with people in a public setting.I am really comfortable and adept in front of any number of people and also in pressured situations. (You don't get much more pressure than singing in front of Royalty or live broadcasting!).
I love learning about YOU and your story and you will always have the opportunity to revise different versions of my script until you are happy, so you retain control. My calm and unflustered voice is nealry always commented upon. (I even sent a child to sleep in a ceremony once, much to the mother's delight!) and my writing has been honed over the years. I work at it so it flows like an enhanced version of natural speech.

Janet Shell Ceremonies offers bespoke wedding celebration ceremonies, with detailed and careful planning while retaining spontaneity and humour. With her classical music background she can advise on music for the day and has immediate access to many professional musicians.
Janet offers a renewal of vows ceremony working with clients to celebrate the story of their relationship so far.

Would highly recomend to anyone on the look out for a celebrant
She held back a few details, so we enjoyed some really sweet surprises on the day, which we loved (though if you’d prefer all the information upfront, she’s happy to share it). Janet was a joy on the day, and the ceremony went beautifully. We’ve received so many compliments, with guests saying it was the most personal ceremony they’d ever attended.

Janet made our ceremony fun and personal, and we would have been lost without her leading the way in our hymn. She went above and beyond; we had briefly met the composer who wrote the song I walked down the aisle to in an airport, and Janet even managed to get a beautiful message from him. Janet also helped us write our vows and my husband’s speech, which made the day even more special. We feel so lucky to have had Janet lead our day and would highly recommend her. She was wonderful and made our day perfect.

Fantastic Celebrant
The ceremony was very in depth, a mix of humorous and emotional, everyone came away enlightened about not only the handfasting and drinking from a Quaich but also Andy & I as people. Janet really bought it together very well. Everyone who came commented that they really enjoyed the whole service. Thank you very much!
Extremely intimate and exactly what we wanted
Most professional service
Janet took time out of her busy day to make sure we spoke that evening, and she promised me she would make my ceremony amazing. She did more than that. She helped me with my vows, and pushed through a ceremony which normally takes months.
Many people commented how perfect my ceremony was and I just want to thank Janet for the most professional service, for easing my anxiety when i was most stressed, and giving me the most perfect day
