  The only celebrant you need to consider

  We’ve been to a lot of weddings. A. Lot. And one thing that’s always stuck out to us is how strangely impersonal and unfortunately dull the ceremonies can be. Sounds awful, but it’s true.
  
  So when we finally decided we thought we’d give it a try, we knew we wanted something more. Something that we would actually enjoy. We wanted people (including us!) to think ‘wow, this is great’ not ‘blimey, i’m hungry, bring on the canapes’.
  
  Enter… Hannah.
  
  She understood what we wanted immediately, enabling us to build a ceremony that was so poignant and altogether perfect. We knew the sort of thing we wanted, but it was Hannah’s amazing ability to ask the right questions and craft the right words that made it a reality.
  
  It was important that we enjoyed the ceremony - it was the only time we were ever planning to do this after all - and we wanted it to be as unique and personal as we are. But, it was also important that our guests were engaged with everything too. Our script allowed them an insight into parts of our lives they hadn’t been directly involved in, while also allowing them to go ‘yes, I remember that bit!’ when they had been.
  
  As a note - we opted to have separate legals in the morning - a tiny five-family-member group which was intimate and perfect. But this bespoke ceremony was the big event. The celebration. There were laughs and tears. Exactly as we wanted. I would absolutely advise this as the best thing to do - don’t tangle up the ceremonies. Both have a real part to play in the day, but we definitely did the right thing keeping them separate so as not to disturb the story and flow of the day.
  
  So we worked with Hannah over a few months, answering questions that made us really think about what we wanted to say. Some of the things that ended up in the script even surprised us - which was great!
  
  And my goodness me - did we make the right decision. The number of compliments we had about the ceremony was staggering. These are three genuine comments I had within an hour of it finishing:
  
  “Wow - I have never seen anything like that before, what a great idea!”
  
  “That was absolutely brilliant”
  
  “That’s the best ceremony i’ve ever been to - including my own”
  
  So, should you have a bespoke ceremony? Oh yes, without a doubt. But only if you get Hannah to do it.

  Hannah made our wedding day incredible!

  Hannah was one of the Humanist celebrants recommended by our wedding planner. We ended up doing weeks of research and after this we knew Hannah was offering the best service and had a personality we knew we’d get along with.
  
  From the moment we met she put our nerves at ease almost immediately. It was evident she takes this job seriously but thoroughly enjoys the process of getting to know a couple's stories and history.
  
  It is a very personal way of getting married, with a tailored ceremony where you can decide what you do and don't want included. Hannah asked us questions during the few months before we got married, then compiled a draft that we could edit. You also get to ‘act’ out the ceremony in advance, which makes the wedding day that much easier.
  
  When the big day came she was absolutely fantastic. It was genuinely reassuring to have her around, mingling with every guest and getting to know our families. So many friends and family told us how much they enjoyed the personal ceremony and Hannah's delivery of it. It all went very well, and Hannah had been so helpful that it was a shame to say goodbye to her later in the day.
  
  We would strongly recommend Hannah for your big day. It is our pleasure to have met and also worked with her. We will never forget that day, and Hannah played a huge role in that.

  Create magical words for a magical day

  Hannah somehow interpreted all of our garbled feelings, hopes and dreams about getting married and translated it to a beautiful, moving and uncannily accurate ceremony and vows. She is an extremely talented writer and orator and I would recommend her whole heartedly.

  Perfect all round!

  Hannah was our perfect match to write up and lead our humanist wedding celebration. We arranged our wedding in 12 weeks and to say it was stressful is an understatement. We couldn't have done it without Hannah's structure and organisation. She kept the ball rolling even when we felt like giving up.
  
  
  
  She listened to exactly what we wanted and truly delivered. We wanted a celebration of our relationship and family and to also tell our story. She used our words by asking us all of the right questions and brought it all together in a beautiful and entertaining way.
  
  
  
  Hannah has a really warm and funny presence and she has this incredible way of reminding you to keep it light-hearted and fun.
  
  
  
  The ceremony itself got so many compliments on the day and we're forever grateful for how special she made this day for us.

  Couldn’t have been more perfect!

  We thought we had found a wonderful wedding Celebrant when we first met Hannah but she ended up being so much more. She shaped the most beautiful, memorable and personal celebration for us and had such wonderful presence on the day. Having Hannah was a huge highlight of our special day. We still reminisce about the ceremony Hannah created for us after 12 years and will still be doing so in another 12, I’m sure! We wholeheartedly recommend Hannah as the Celebrant who will make your day so much more meaningful than another ever could.

  The most perfect and personal wedding celebration

  Right from Paul proposing, we both knew we wanted a personal wedding which meant something to us, reflected our lives and values and represented us. Paul had been to a humanist ceremony in the past and was loved the personal and individual approach. So a humanist wedding was exactly what we wanted!
  
  We spent a lot of time researching Humanist Celebrants, and came across Hannah on the Humanist website. After talking to her on the phone, it was clear Hannah was the Celebrant for us: she was as excited as we were about our engagement and wedding! She gave brilliant advice, without pressure or judgement, and was more than happy to calm any worries or concerns with a friendly email.
  
  Hannah really took the time to get to know us as individuals and as a couple, which made the ceremony even more personal, it felt more like a friend was conducting it. All our friends and family commented on our unique, personal and moving service even to this day!
  
  Hannah was brilliant in guiding us through the process of creating the humanist ceremony and when we decided to write our own secret(!) vows. With her infectious excitement, Hannah took time in helping us to write the vows and perfectly understood the importance of them to us.
  
  The cost of hiring Hannah reflects her experience, enthusiasm and professionalism. We approached other (cheaper) Celebrants, but no other gave us the feeling that our wedding was as important to them as it was to us. Nor did they seem they would be as involved as Hannah was in helping craft the perfect day.
  
  As we were always set on having a humanist ceremony, we always viewed the separate legal ceremony as just that – a paperwork exercise (even dressing in our comfy clothes to reinforce the fact we didn’t see that as our official wedding!). Our venue was not licensed to perform weddings, so we ‘had’ to have a separate legal ceremony on the morning of our humanist wedding. But it meant we could have a little private moment with just our parents and each other before the madness of getting ready for our actual wedding and ceremony.
  
  So overall, we cannot recommend Hannah enough! She has an amazing ability to make you feel like you are the only couple she’s working with. The humanist ceremony she created for us was more than we could ever imagine. Every detail had been considered, and it was personal to the very end, nothing was generic.
  
  To this day our friends and family comment on how our wedding was a beautiful day and how the ceremony reflected us perfectly as a couple. We loved every minute of it! We cannot thank Hannah enough for all her time, excitement and for the delivery of the ceremony itself.

  Perfectly informal…

  We wanted an informal, relaxed and intimate wedding, away from the usual norm.
  Hannah came highly recommended by Richard at the Craven Arms and although it felt strange being so open with someone we didn’t know, in our first conversation Hannah couldn’t have made us feel more comfortable.
  Her methods and techniques for putting our ceremony together worked really well and by the time it came to our rehearsal it felt like Hannah had known us for years.
  On the big day there was lots of emotion and Hannah’s experience, calmness and total investment in our ceremony was obvious as she guided us through without a hitch.
  From filling our two kids with encouragement and confidence to read out their poems to bringing tears (and laughter!) to our guests Hannah was fantastic and we are so happy that she was part of our family story.
  Our day was everything we wanted it to be and more and having Hannah there to lead it was one of the best decisions we made.

  As you now know neither of us could be accused of being overly organised or particularly prompt – qualities which are pretty key when planning a wedding. However, with your help and guidance we are happy to say that our wedding day was an absolutely amazing success and ran so smoothly.
  From your regular and kind messages helping us organise the ceremony to your indispensable help on the day managing people and ensuring things ran smoothly all the way through to the heartfelt ceremony you performed which left us caught somewhere between laughing and crying (we honestly didn’t stop smiling all evening!) you were absolutely indispensable.
  So many of our friends and family commented on how sincere and professional your ceremony was and many more now have a much better understanding of why we chose a Humanist ceremony. We could not recommend you highly enough to any couple planning for their big day.

  It's been 8 years since Hannah helped us plan our perfect day. Friends still say our wedding was the best they've been to, including their own, haha!! And this certainly could not have been done without Hannah.
  
  As childhood sweethearts we had so much we wanted to say to each other in front of our loved ones. Hannah magically crafted our words into a beautiful, unique ceremony, suiting our laid back and playful style as a couple. She's just incredible at what she does, making the entire process fun and exciting and as painless as possible. She helped make sure there wasn't a dry eye in the place. We felt soooo lucky we had found her!
