I am a professionally trained independent Celebrant and I am here to guide you through creating a ceremony as individual as you are.

An Independent Celebrant is someone who is (not always professionally trained) to carry out special ceremonies. We work independently from religious or secular institutions or Government-led systems. This means that we have total freedom to craft the kind of service or ceremony that you would like to have! You have the option to sign your legal paperwork (just as you would a birth or death) at your local Registry Office (for around £60 depending on your local council) and then we are free to create the ceremony that reflects you. Whenever, wherever, however!

Life is full of love and celebration. My role is to create an individual and personal service for your event. It may be the joy of joining a loving couple for a life together, the welcoming of a new child into the world or into a new family, or the sad farewell of a loved one and a celebration of their life.

The role of a Celebrant is based in love, surely the best job in the world! I have always loved creating celebrations and I have the essential skills to help others through the pivotal moments of life. My education background is in Hospitality and Catering and Events management, I have been a secondary teacher for many years and have always loved running my own small business alongside teaching. My love of crafts and making inspires me on a daily basis and my training to become a Celebrant was both a life-changing and vocational experience.

I am passionate about creating memorable celebrations for life’s biggest moments. At our initial meeting I'll ask about your thoughts, dreams and wishes. And if you're overwhelmed by the choices we can chat about that too! I can offer suggestions and advice for readings, poems, music, and rituals while providing assistance in sourcing any items for the ceremony. If needed, I'll be available to help with writing your vows, creating a memorable and authentic ceremony to make it personal to you. Rehearsals can be arranged before the big day and I will liaise with other key suppliers for a seamless and professional service. In addition to wedding ceremonies, I also perform vow renewals, commitment ceremonies, and more.

My base is in Matlock, Derbyshire. I cover Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, South Yorkshire and other areas on request.
