Hello and welcome to South Downs Celebrants! Huge congratulations on your engament, how wonderful to be planning a wedding!

If you would like a ceremony that includes vows, promises and rings and is all about you - no problem! But you may choose to have a ceremony thats much more like you, filled with love and hilarity that your guests will remember forever! To add a handfasting and involve your guests with ribbons and chords; or raise a glass and toast all your guests with a liquor shot; having "surprise" (or planned surprise!) ring bearers; or plant a rose to keep forever; hold pebbles to signify "setting in stone" your love for each other; or just having a marvellous sing-along to a song that means the world to you. There are literally so many things that we can do to make your service absolulety yours.

South Downs Celebrants are two professionally trained Civil Celebrants. Amanda Millis, who has been a Weddings and Events Manager for over 30 years, and is a Nationally award winning Celebrant, being runner-up Nationally for The Association of Independant Celebrants, as couples and family celebrant 2024. Amanda is a celebrant for Field Place, and also travels all over West Sussex and Hampshire looking after all kinds of ceremony services. Corrine Samaras, who has worked with people all her life, and is a Human Resources executive for South Downs Leisure, Corrine is based at Field Place, looks after wedding ceremonies at Field Place Manor House and Barns.

We would love to get to know you, hear all about you as a couple, help you build and compose your love story to ensure that your wedding starts with amazing celebrations. A bespoke personalised service, written just for you. There are no boundaries or restrictions, it truly is all about you.

We love looking after our coules, getting to know all about you, and bringing your stories to life throughout your wedding ceremony. Bringing a wealth of people skills to the role both Amanda and Corrine specialise in excellent customer service.

The benefits of choosing a Celebrant are many. A Celebrant brings individuality; we are lucky, we get to know our couples and invest time into writing a bespoke service just for them. We aren't akin to registrars, rushing off to our next ceremony. We look after one wedding a day. Each ceremony is personal to the couple, it’s not an 'insert name here' template of a ceremony. We get to know you, understand your vision and values, and we want to give you a unique, personal experience. During your service you will sign a commemorative certificate that you can be photographed with as you complete it, so your service flows.

All our couples consider the wedding day the day that the celebrate with all thier family and friends, with a bespoke ceremony written for them; and not the day of the formal registration where they spent five minutes in the registry office, which is a legality. If you were to compare the birth of a baby and going to the registry office, you would then register the birth of the baby’s name. You wouldn’t however take with you your family and friends; you would hold a baby naming ceremony or a christening on a separate date in a location of your choosing.

It is the same with a wedding, why not register your marriage and then celebrate your wedding day how and when you would like it to be, with complete freedom of choice, your wedding, your way. Registrars do an amazing job with all the legality, but we do the story telling, we bring laughter and joy, making your ceremony all about you.
