Who doesn't love a great wedding? And now that it's your turn to get married (yay by the way), it's time for you experience a day in your life like no other, truly, you'll be buzzing from the minute you wake up to the minute you go to sleep.

Your wedding gets to be a fabulous experience, for you both and your guests.

So, how does it all work and how can I help you?

Well, hey there, I'm Susan Young, a Humanist Celebrant based in the Scottish Borders in a wee town called Melrose. I work across the whole of the Borders, Lothians and even further afield (it really doesn't take much to persaude me to go on an adventure). I absolutely LOVE marrying folk. Like, love it. I know what an honour and priviledge it is to be a part of your day, so creating a ceremony that fits you, your partner and your history is one of the best jobs in the world, and I take it very seriously. Although, I do love a bit of banter, a wee laugh and some sentiment too - not enough to ruin make-up, but enough for you to FEEL all the feels and to want to celebrate with joy in your hearts, sharing anecdotes, the parts of your story you want to share and even if you don't want to share much at all, we'll create what works for you, what's important is that it's your day, that you get to choose how it goes, what's included, all in your style.

I know you'll have a vision for your day, that's what we'll work on working out, making it come to life through storytelling in the ceremony, we can even include rituals, readings, poems or have a wee dance - honestly, it's up to you!

I'm happy to hike up a hill, wander doon the river, head out to the woods, or be charmed by the gloriousness of a big old mansion house or castle. What's most important is that the details in it all match who you are as a couple, as individuals and also makes you feel good.

Whatever your wedding is going to be, no matter how big or small, the ceremony I write for you will be totally bespoke, I have a tendency to write some cheesy poems too (if you want me to) and will be delivered on the day with a smile, heart and a lot of love from me to you, my fee is inclusive of symbolic gestures, readings, all the things if you choose to have them. I'm sure I mentioned somewhere earlier, I'll travel anywhere in Scotland, though I do add on a mileage fee if I am to go way, way, up the top!

Oh and something that I really should have mentioned earlier, I'm licensed with the Registrar General in Scotland to legally wed you and of course, I'm insured too!
