Alexandra Peterken is an artist and illustrator based in East London, England. For the past 2 years, Alex has created live guest portraits and illustrations for weddings and special events nationwide. Using pencil, watercolour and pen, Alex hand-paints fashion / stylised portraits of you and your guests as a personal keepsake from your special day.

Alex is a recommended supplier for the Foundling Museum (Grade II listed building), Balfour Hospitality, and Camden Weddings.

A stand-out event for Alex was creating illustrations for the engagement party of Emmy award-winning Host and Director Nelufar Hedayat.

Alex has also created live illustrations for brands including Remington and Club L London.

On the Day

The process starts with Alex chatting with your guests as an introduction to the artistic service; she will then take photos of the guests wanting to be illustrated and then sit and paint the guests for the remainder of the time, using the photo references. This makes the unique experience for your guests seamless, as they can continue to enjoy the event without needing to stand or pose for a prolonged time.

Alex will encourage all guests to have an illustration, whether that be couples, families, group shots or stylish individuals.

The paper heading will be personalised for the special day, showcasing the occasion or the newlyweds' name and event date.

Each illustration takes an average of 10 - 15 minutes, depending on the level of detail and number of people in the painting.

Once dry, each A5 illustration is gifted in a bio-degradable film sleeve, which guests can easily take home as a unique and personal wedding favour.

This is an excellent experience as guests get a customised mini-portrait painting, and they can also interact and watch Alex as she works her painting magic as an added experience to the day. Previous couples have expressed how unique and personal this service is, as well as being great as a quality, take-home gift for everyone to remember the day in years to come. ​
