Live Wedding Painting by Patrick Heisel OBE is a bespoke live watercolour painting service available UK wide. Live painting by an exceptional artist is a great way to entertain guests and see the memory of the event unfold on your special day. Not only do you get a keepsake that you can hold onto forever, but it's an experience for you and your guests to enjoy - seeing a moment captured in real-time on paper. Children are also fascinated by the process. Not many artists can paint to the required accuracy and quality standards under these conditions...I can!
I paint on “Arches” 100% cotton cold pressed paper 140lb using Daniel Smith artist grade professional paints. These materials are considered the gold standard and highest quality in watercolour painting. This gives the best texture, durability and colour pigment on the paper.
I paint in two sizes:
- 33 x 49cm (A3) - £549
- 42 x 59.4cm (A2) - £999
with a clear white boarder around the edge. My service also includes consulations, up to 7 hours live painting including interacting with guests (excluding set up time), glass or Perspex display wooden frame and additional studio time if necessary and signed and secured delivery to your home address.
I will sketch and paint while the event is occurring at a suitable distance. Your guests can view and interact with me while they enjoy the remainder of the event.
At an appropriate point at the event you may want a big reveal to the guests and/or simply take home a completed painting in a frame to cherish forever.

Exceeded all our expectations and more
On the day itself, Patrick seamlessly blended in with our guests, painting with a passion that was inspiring to watch. The final piece was even more stunning than we imagined, with every little detail captured beautifully. One of the most lovely touches was that he included our beloved cat, who couldn’t be at the venue with us. It made the painting feel like our whole family was there.
After the wedding, he took the painting back to his studio to add even more details, like subtle silhouettes of our friends, which kept us as the main focus. Then, as soon as we returned from our honeymoon, he had the painting delivered perfectly to our door. Now it hangs proudly in our hall, and every time we pass by it, we’re reminded of that incredible day with all our loved ones and our vows.
