Live Wedding Painting by Patrick Heisel OBE is an affordable and bespoke live wedding painter specialising in watercolours available UK wide. A live painting by an exceptional artist is a great way to entertain guests and see the memory of the event unfold on your special day. Not only do you get a keepsake that you can hold onto forever, but it's an experience for you and your guests to enjoy - seeing a moment captured in real-time on paper to cherish forever.
In summary, the watercolour painting is available in two sizes:
- 33 x 49cm (A3) - £549
- 42 x 59.4cm (A2) - £999
This service includes:
- a high quality professional watercolour scene or portrait of your choice using the highest quality materials;
- telephone consultations to ensure your expectations are met;
- up to 7 hours live painting including guest interaction (excluding any set up time);
- additional studio time after the event to perfect the painting before delivery;
- secure and signed delivery to your home address; and
- a glass display in a wooden frame with a cream mount for a professional finish and to immediately display in your home - styles include white, black, oak or rustic.

What is included in the wedding package?
A3 or A2 high quality watercolour painting of your wedding scene displayed in a quality glass display wooden frame with mount. The service includes over 7 hours painting and guest interaction
How far in advance should I contact you?
As soon as possible really, as the service gets booked up very quickly. Send a non-committal query to provisionally book your slot which will follow a telephone consultation to secure the booking
What other services to you provide?
Other (General painting commissions of any scene, or portrait during my working hours particularly if you missed the opportunity of having me paint at your wedding)
Are you able to travel?
Yes, all over the UK
Is there a charge for travelling?
Yes, outside London there is an additional charge for travel which is around 40p per mile
Do you need specific materials or conditions to offer your service?
No
How long is the act?
Up to 7 hours is the typical time for a good quality painting (excluding any set up time). However if the painting is not fully complete, additional studio time will be provided free of charge
How much time do you need to prepare for an act?
Around 1-2 hours set up time before the ceremony or event begins

How do you charge extra time?
No extra time is charged. If the painting is not fully complete I will provide additional studio time and deliver the painting securely your home address. This is all included in the price

100% Recommend- Hire Patrick!
I can’t recommend Patrick enough if you’re looking for a live wedding painter. Maybe you’re not looking for a live wedding painter specifically but just looking for something that makes your wedding extra special, something that adds an element for your guests and yourselves - this is it and specifically you should hire Patrick.
Patrick did an absolutely lovely job painting (honestly I loved the painting halfway done before he finishing touches) but he was also extremely lovely and easy to work with. He also was a delight for our family and friends to interact with as they admired his work and even contributed to the painting. When reviewing options I thought Patrick’s work was well beyond the skill set of the other options but didn’t consider ease of communication. Only after being in wedding planning lead up and on the day did I fully appreciate how lovely and stress free Patrick made things.
So thank you again, Patrick, for the lovely work you did. For any brides, grooms, or family members seeking a unique wedding present (with prior approval obviously) do not hesitate to book with Patrick. Enjoy your day and your painting x

Exceeded all our expectations and more
We feel so fortunate to have had Patrick Heisel MBE, as our live painter on our wedding day. Right from the start, Patrick was a joy to work with — approachable, warm, and genuinely interested in our vision. Communicating with him was effortless; he understood exactly what we were hoping for and was open to every suggestion we made. It was clear that he cared just as much as we did about capturing the essence of our day.
On the day itself, Patrick seamlessly blended in with our guests, painting with a passion that was inspiring to watch. The final piece was even more stunning than we imagined, with every little detail captured beautifully. One of the most lovely touches was that he included our beloved cat, who couldn’t be at the venue with us. It made the painting feel like our whole family was there.
After the wedding, he took the painting back to his studio to add even more details, like subtle silhouettes of our friends, which kept us as the main focus. Then, as soon as we returned from our honeymoon, he had the painting delivered perfectly to our door. Now it hangs proudly in our hall, and every time we pass by it, we’re reminded of that incredible day with all our loved ones and our vows.

Absolutely Amazing
Patrick is truly exceptional. From the very start, he was professional, approachable, and incredibly easy to work with. It was clear that he genuinely cared about Jack and me, taking the time to understand us and my vision for the painting. He is incredibly likable, which made it easy for our guests to connect with him. He set himself up in an ideal spot where everyone could interact and watch the process unfold. Having him there was a wonderful addition to our day—our guests loved being part of the painting experience. The reveal at the end of the evening was absolutely magical and left us speechless. We’ll treasure our painting forever. Patrick took it home to add some finishing touches and returned it to us so quickly. I highly recommend him—his work is stunning, and the experience was worth every penny.

Surprise wedding with extra surprise
We invited all our guests to an engagement party which was in fact our wedding. Patrick did a brilliant job on our portrait. It is truly stunning. He also adapted to our surprise making it work for us which was exactly what we needed. He engaged with our guests beautifully and overall was great at communication and professional. Highly recommend
