Cool jazz from hot London - Trio Watts bring the effortless style of 1950s California to your doorstep through the music of Chet Baker, Gerry Mulligan, and the Great American Songbook.
"Andy's music feels like I aspire to feel every day - relaxed, refined, elevated. I grew up in a home where jazz was listened to daily, and I lived in New York, so I want just that little bit more from the live music I listen to. I'd hire Trio Watts again and again for every corporate and important personal event where I know my guests, and I want to experience something special." - Marta Krupinska - CEO, Cur8 Capital.
Made in New Zealand and seasoned in London, cornet player Andy Watts fell in love with the lyrical and laconic style of Chet Baker whilst studying at the University of Auckland. The effortless, smooth playing provided a beautiful contrast to his other favourites, Clifford Brown, Lee Morgan and Freddie Hubbard!
Forming a classic trio of cornet, guitar, and upright bass (featuring long-time friends and collaborators Aleph Aguiar and Jason Simpson), Andy celebrates this laid-back style with a huge repertoire of American Songbook standards alongside some original music written specifically for the trio.
"Great players who bring a sense of style and sophistication to their performance, Trio Watts evoke that classic west coast feel, without losing sight of the fact that they're modern, hip Londoners…" - A. Tibbitts - Director of Innovation & Growth, London & Partners.
Having played regularly in London's jazz hotspots (Ronnie Scott's, Toulouse Lautrec, and Pizza Express Dean Street, to name a few), Trio Watts transport their audience to a classic age in jazz, perfect for sipping a cocktail while the sun sets over London.
Trio Watts is a talented jazz band that performs at weddings and events in central London.
