Issy's Arts is based in Kent, the garden of England, and is a small home-based business dedicated to designing and crafting custom, unique and bespoke place card holders and name card stands.

Issy's Arts specialises in designing and making something more fitting for couples and with unique themes for weddings, parties, special events, and occasions. I have worked with many couples and corporations designing themed name holders, placeholders, and card stands that end up as takeaway souvenirs and photo stands. There are currently over 100 designs available.

A lovely idea used by couples is to have a different-coloured stand to coordinate with the menu choice for the guests. I have also had couples incorporate the memory of beloved pets no longer with us by using custom-designed pet stands. The stands I design become talking points and create great memories on a very special day.

What are they made of?

The stands I design are 3D printed to order and small enough to hold a piece of card the size of a business card. Some of the stands are bigger and more suited to larger pieces of card. They are not suited to outdoor events as they will blow over and are lightweight. The material is Polylactic Acid (PLA) filament, a recyclable, natural thermoplastic polyester made from renewable resources such as corn starch or sugar cane. The filament is biodegradable under certain conditions, has high heat capacity, and is highly mechanically strong. It can be melted without significant damage and does not emit toxins or fumes.

Is it Environmentally Friendly?

PLA production uses 65% less energy than producing conventional plastics, generates 68% fewer greenhouse gases, and contains no toxins.

PLA is a plant-based, biodegradable plastic. It's crafted from plant-based sources like corn, sugarcane, or tapioca roots.

This means that instead of depleting finite fossil fuel resources, PLA harnesses the power of plants to create bioplastics, significantly reducing environmental impact.
