Special Event Tipis and Marquees is a wedding and private events business based out of Carlisle, Cumbria, in North West England.

Special Event Tipis and Marquees was established in 2011 after our own tipi wedding. We wanted an intimate atmosphere mixed with the WOW factor. Our special day was a one-off occasion, and we wanted it to be magical!

The tipis were the perfect solution and provided us with the quirky, fun and unique venue that we wanted. It truly was the best day of our lives, and we have now helped over 1000 clients plan their perfect Special Event, whether it be a wedding, festival-style party, corporate event or furniture hire.

We offer teepee and sailcoth marquee hire for events of any size, from intimate wedding blessings of 15 to large corporate events and festivals at any time of year across venues in the Lake District, Cumbria, Northumberland, Lancashire, North Yorkshire and Scotland.

We were so excited to welcome a new option to our range of special structures from 2023 when alongside our tipi tents, we will also be offering gorgeous sailcloth tent hire – a lighter, brighter space for your outdoor wedding, party or corporate event!
