Athens is a fun, versatile band that enjoys playing live music, ranging from the hits of the '60s to modern day chart toppers. Playing for a wide range of events, ranging from charities, corporate functions, and wedding receptions, they are experienced and capable of playing for your wedding day. Athens has a large repertoire of songs they know and they can learn new songs upon request.

Experience

Athens was formed more than 10 years ago. The four musicians have extensive experience in the field. In fact, they have performed at many venues, including the EICC, Corn Exchange, Assembly Rooms, Caledonian hotels, and Sheraton hotels. They play regularly at the Jam House in Edinburgh. They've also had the honor of playing for Standard Life, Ikea, City of Edinburgh Council, and Hibernian FC.

Services offered

Athens plays live music, which can be used as background or entertainment. Disco music is offered, along with Ceilidh if needed. The repertoire is ever-growing, including music from the 60s to present day. Popular, classic, and favorite songs are played in their lineup. They enjoy playing for all ages and tastes, which they can accommodate with their attention to detail. The band can learn a first dance song if the lineup is suitable.

How they work

Typically, the band is booked six months to a year in advance. However, it doesn't hurt to ask for availability if you are short on time. They bring their own equipment, such as a high-quality PA and lighting equipment. Within an hour, they are set up for the evening and usually play from 8pm to midnight. However, if additional hours are needed, they can accommodate. Additionally, they can travel and do open-air acts.

Athens is based in Edinburgh, where they have performed for many various events. However, they have also performed in several areas within central Scotland. They are also available to travel, depending on their availability. If you aren't sure, just ask them.
