Formed in 1993 and based in Kirkcaldy, Fife, Big Night Out is one of the best wedding and function bands in the country. Known as Scotland's premier wedding and function band, this spectacular 5-piece live band specialises in offering the best music and entertainment for many sorts of occasions which include weddings and other special events.

Experience

Finalists in the 2008 VOWS Awards for Wedding Music & Entertainment, and winners of the 2014 Scottish Wedding Awards for Best Entertainment in South East Scotland. They are a highly recommended band for many hotels and venues.

What is included in the wedding package?

Booking Big Night Out will ensure the success of your wedding reception or corporate function. With our extensive range of music, guests of all ages will be kept entirely entertained and above all kept dancing all evening. Even Scottish traditional music can be played LIVE to really get the party on its way with a few ceilidh dances

How far in advance should I contact you?

We always recommend to our potential clients, the sooner you can make an enquiry the better. This way, you have peace of mind that you have booked high quality entertainment that you can depend on. Bookings are secured via a confirmation contract sent from us. We require the contract filled in with the wedding or function details and signed to confirm the booking

Big Night Out play a wide variety of genres, performing a mixture of classic songs as well as some latest chart hits. We will also play Scottish Ceilidh dances, on request and these are called by ourselves. With our experience of playing high-quality Wedding dances and Corporate Functions we "guarantee" that the dance floor will be filled all night

Is it possible to request something that's not in the repertoire?

We offer to learn a first dance, or special request for free so long as we are given adequate time to learn the song properly. Typically we'd ask for at least a month before your special event. We also offer couples a choice of songs from our current "first dance" list but we realise many couples often have a specific song they’d like us to learn

What is the length of time of the act?

Big Night Out can play LIVE for your entire evening. Typically for a wedding the band would start at 8pm taking a break around 9.45pm for approx 30 mins whilst your buffet is served (back ground music will be provided) then continuing on until Midnight. This means approx 3 1/2 hours of performance time. For corporate events the band would tend to start at 9.30pm and finish at 1am, including an approx 30 minute break ideal for doing a raffle or auction. Importantly, this means you don’t have to also book a DJ, as Big Night Out play all styles of music and will play throughout your evening

How much time do you need to prepare for an act?

It will normally take us around an hour, to unload and set up the equipment and then get changed into our formal clothing. However, this does depend on how easy the access into the venue is and also how large the venue is, as it effects the amount of equipment and lighting required. We will always arrive an hour before we are scheduled to start playing

What are the forms of payment?

To confirm a booking, a small non-refundable deposit is made. The remainder of the fee is due at the beginning of the evening of your special event. All of the details are outlined in all of our paperwork that is sent our to each client
