Devoted Events is a multi-award-winning wedding DJ company based in Chelmsford, Essex. Specialising in personalised services, they will strive to ensure that your celebration of love is as unique as your relationship. Using state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment, they will work hard to help you and your loved ones make lasting memories together.

By combining musical entertainment with special effects, Devoted Events is able to produce unforgettable occasions. Depending on your needs, their dedicated DJs would be honoured to perform for your ceremony and evening reception. With an expansive selection of songs from a wide array of genres, they can tailor your wedding soundtrack to perfectly suit your preferred style. In addition to their professional DJ and MC services, Devoted Events offer an array of special effects and event additional items. Just some of these include:

What is included in the wedding package?
Two uplit podiums with an LED mirror ball effect on each, two moving head lights on our modified deck stand and FBT Vertus Speakers. Everything in white for that bespoke, premium wedding style
How far in advance should I contact you?
We take bookings from three months up to three years in advance
What style of music do you offer?
Other (This is your day so we work precisely how you'd like us to, be it mainstream or specific. Many clients with International guests have requested libraries of traditional music. We always accommodate)

Is it possible to request something that's not in the repertoire?
We love to help so if there is something not in our brochure that doesn't mean we cannot supply it or introduce to a reliable, professional company who can. We love a challenge!
What's your experience?
Jimmy Lee, started DJing at 13-years-of-age in 1983 and is the owner of the business. Having DJed in clubs in Miami and Ibiza between 1989 and 1995 he then chose to only to focus on weddings in 2014

Yes
Do you need specific materials or conditions to offer your service?
No
Can you travel?
Yes, we usually travel up to 90 minutes' each way from Chelmsford included in our pricing
Is there a charge for travelling?
Yes, 80 mile radius of Chelmsford. Further distances may result in a nominal fuel levy. Reasonable costs such as parking or congestion fees would be borne by the client
Do you cover more than one wedding a day?
Yes
Do you work alone or do you have a team of professionals?
With a team
What is the length of time of the act?
Ordinarily, the DJing is roughly between 7pm and midnight but we are very flexible. We also offer an all-day hosting package so are often at a venue from 9am to 2am with setting up and packing away
How much time do you need to prepare for an act?
Our disco only can be set up in 45 minutes. Other items can extend this time but we always approach each wedding in full consultation with not only the couple but also the venue co-ordinator

Do you charge per hour or per event?

How do you charge extra time?
This is discussed with the client on a case by case basis according to their needs
What are the forms of payment?
We accept payments via our online planning portal or bank transfer. Clients can make payments at any time up to two weeks prior to the event date. Just a £250 deposit secures the date

Perfection from start to end
What can I say about Devoted Events & Jimmy in particular that hasn’t been said a thousand times over? From our initial contact 2+ years ago to the day of and after the wedding the communication and care has been exceptional! Jimmy is a true gentleman who couldn’t do enough for us, from last minute changes to music and sourcing seemingly impossible music to find! We were the clueless couple
That put our trust in him and his years of experience and we were not disappointed in the slightest! All my guests were so complimentary of all the details that came from Devoted events! I can’t recommend them enough! I want to do it all again!

Fantastic! Our wedding reception was brilliant because of Devoted
We had DJ Jimmy and Devoted’s LED dance floor. The dance floor was amazing and completely transformed the marquee for the evening.
Jimmy was brilliant in every way. Such a nice, genuine guy. Great DJ who read the room and every song was a hit with our guests. The dancefloor was packed the entire night. Jimmy is also a great host and very creative with announcements and ideas.

Cannot Recommend Enough!
Jimmy made our day! The guests all loved Jimmy and he kept our day organised with the hosting package. The games was one of the highlights of the day, especially Mr and Mrs! The music was great and we loved having the dancefloor. So many of our guests have complimented Jimmy and can't stop talking about him. Thank you!!!

Worth every cent and best experience
We used Devoted Events for our wedding recently for their audio book phone booth. The coordination and correspondence leading up to the wedding was painless and everyone was super accommodating. They went out of their way to make any changes we requested and were on time setting up the phone booth for our special day. I would highly recommend them and worth every cent spent.

Amazing and fun DJ!
Jim was amazing to work with, he totally understood the vibe we wanted at our wedding and absolutely delivered! He included all the songs and extras we asked for, particularly for our first dance, and was great fun! On the lead up to our wedding communication was also great so we would definitely recommend! My guests also commented on what a great DJ we had! :)

Utterly amazing!
We used Jimmy at Devoted events for our all day wedding hosting and evening, he was absolutely amazing! He was there every step of the way, from the first phone call, to assisting on the day. Without Jimmy our day would not have been the same. He was so organised, he knew exactly what we wanted, and he most certainly delivered. The music, the games, the effects: smoke floor and sparklers for our first dance, the doughnut tower, the 360 Photo Booth… (and much more) it was all absolutely perfect! Jimmy and Caroline weren’t just suppliers for our day, they made our day! We have had so many friends and family comment on how good their set up was, and how amazing it all was, Jimmy is funny, dedicated, professional, and I am just so so happy that we found him! He really got the party going and was there for both of us, and our guests throughout the day! Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts for making the best day of our lives!

Portal to arrange pre- wedding requests and order of the day was great . Given extension when requested. Accepted playlist for tdd we cords not on portal. Very flexible on the day and helpful with on day changes and requests. Photo Booth was great fun.

Brilliant start to finish

Bordeaux wedding party
Devoted Events came to Bordeaux to do our wedding party - we lucked out with such an amazing team. They provided lawn games, lights, the photo booth and of course, amazing music. Came across Jimmy at a friend's wedding. His company then did my sister's wedding in London and then ours the following year. He and his team are very professional, on it and a total joy to work with. Thanks so much Jimmy and Caroline for making our day so memorable!

Sergio was AMAZING!!!
We had Sergio for our wedding at Parklands, Quendon Hall and we can not recommend him enough!
We had a call with Sergio a few days before and he was so personable, friendly and just made us feel so comfortable and excited for the night!

Wedding success
I can honestly say that Devoted Events (Jimmy) made our day absolutely perfect. We didn't have to worry about a thing, from the announcements to the ceremony music right through to the evening disco. He also added some fun into the mix with a Bride/Groom game which raised many laughs. This company is truly professional and the attention to detail is amazing.
Jimmy ensured that the day was totally ours and wasn't intrusive in any way.

Wedding whole day package
What an amazing experience. Jimmy went above and beyond for our wedding. It truly was a highly professional experience from beginning through to the end. Everyone commented on how amazing the dj was and even had people saying they wanted him for their functions. We will certainly go nowhere else for a dj in the future.
