About
Hi! I’m a professional cellist, ready and waiting to perform your dream wedding music, worldwide. I can provide beautiful music for your guests as they arrive, your wedding ceremony, drinks receptions, wedding breakfasts and your first dance! For certain events, I can provide background or interim music, perfectly suited to your event. I provide solo acoustic cello, and I can also provide elctroacoustic cello with accompaniment!
I perform the favourite and tradtional classics; pop songs from over the decades; plenty of TV and film favourites, beautiful church hymns, and film and theatre favourites – there are no limits! I have also incorporated music from different cultures, including Bollywood, Polish, AfroBeats, and more. I can arrange special requests of your favourite pieces of music and can sight-read and improvise fluently. I will happily transcribe special additional requests for solo cello, if it's not already in my music library.
I have played cello for 30+ years, performing with countless orchestras and ensembles around the whole of the UK. I also travel internationally to perform with my cello, including the USA, the Caribbean, the Channel Islands, and much of Europe. Away from orchestras, I've been invited as backing strings for numerous musicians for professional recordings and live performances, have provided music for promo sessions, wedding shows, the BBC, Netflix, Heart Radio, and various artists such as Alicia Keys, Akash Odedra, Amanda Holden, Ebony Bones, Bonaventura Bottone, Tiana Major9, and more.
I have an MA Degree in Performance (with distinction), and to maintain an excellent standard of playing, I currently study under award-winning cellist Richard Jenkinson, with additional lessons from tutors at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
My primary cello is a beautiful English cello aged approx 200 years old called Sid, and he's lush. My second cello is set up for elctroacoustic performances, and is a beautiful 20 year old hand made cello. I travel worldwide, and can perform for as little or as long as you need. Very importantly, I am fully insured with Public Liability insurance which covers me for venues worldwide.

Meet the Team
Hi! My name is Jay Émme, and I'm a professional cellist!
I have played the cello for 30+ years, performing with numerous orchestras and ensembles around the UK, from north Scotland, right down to the south coast. I raised through the ranks of county youth orchestras very quickly, and was longest serving principal cellist (9 years) for Midland Youth Orchestra - now the prestigious CBSO Youth Orchestra. I am a regular cellist with Birmingham Philharmonic Orchestra, whilst I also freelance with various other orchestras and ensembles around the UK throughout the year. I also travel to perform internationally, with locations including Canada, the Caribbean, the Channel Islands, France, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, and the Czech Republic.
Away from orchestras, I've been invited as a cellist for numerous musicians for professional recordings and live performances, have provided music for promo sessions, wedding shows, and Graduation ceremonies, and am often invited to work with music students exploring creative arts through music. I am currently finishing a Masters Degree in Performance, whilst also working towards a Fellowship of the Royal Schools of Music (FRSM). To maintain an excellent standard of playing, I currently study under award-winning cellists Richard Jenkinson, Lionel Handy, and Jane Salmon at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
It's a pleasure to meet you!
