Wedding Band

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to Dessie and the rest of the band for such an amazing performance for our wedding. From the ceremony music, the drinks reception and the evening reception - everything was perfect!

You guys brought the vibe and we definitely tried to match it! You made our day so special, thank you!

I can't tell you how many people came up to me saying how amazing the band was.

Amazing band

Bond was absolutely amazing. They dealt with all our requests immediately, they were on time on the day and the life of the party.

A brilliant band!

Blue Lion played at our NYE wedding and they were superb!! They had the dance floor pumping from start to finish! They even learned and played two specific song requests which was hugely appreciated. A massive thanks to a very talented group of musicians and those that helped coordinate the event.

Mixed experience

We decided quite late into our wedding planning that we wanted a band - it was obviously a lot of money but we decided it would be worth it.

The actual planning was great - Blue Lion were very responsiveness and they have a dashboard for planning which was fantastic. I especially liked this as myself and my husband are huge music lovers - music was always going to be a really big part of our day, and we really enjoyed writing down our favourite artists and important songs to help Blue Lion come up with a great setlist.

We had a positive phone call with Simon and went through timings and layout which was great to...

We decided quite late into our wedding planning that we wanted a band - it was obviously a lot of money but we decided it would be worth it.

The actual planning was great - Blue Lion were very responsiveness and they have a dashboard for planning which was fantastic. I especially liked this as myself and my husband are huge music lovers - music was always going to be a really big part of our day, and we really enjoyed writing down our favourite artists and important songs to help Blue Lion come up with a great setlist.

We had a positive phone call with Simon and went through timings and layout which was great to help us understand what the evening would look like, and definitely made us very excited.

It started well - our day was running a bit late and the band had to wait to set up, which wasn’t fair on them. They set up really quickly which was very appreciated and had our first dance song set up. The first live section went well.

When the band went to have their break and it was the DJ section, the music was very random - nothing at all like what we’d discussed, and very much not our kind of music. We kept giving them the benefit of the doubt but the music got worse.

They also didn’t stick to the timings we’d agreed, meaning there was a really long DJ section at the end, again, with music that just didn’t fit our vibe.

One of the hotel workers went and spoke with the band and they blamed the music on not having any internet. This didn’t make any sense as the hotel has free, unlimited WiFi and at the end of the night (as explained later in our review) we played music we wanted very easily from their iPad.

They also played a song by Michael Jackson during the DJ portion which was specifically on our do not play list.

In the end, one of my friends just sat down with their iPad and played our kind of music to redeem the evening. That was the best part which was very frustrating considering how much we’d paid - we could have just rented a speaker.

The live music song choices were definitely much better, but even still there were lots of missed cues, different lyrics - it felt like the band didn’t know half the songs they were playing and were scrambling to learn how to play it whilst performing. There was one moment in particular where they played Shake it Off and it was like hearing a different song - my bridesmaids and I kept trying to dance to it but we couldn’t.

Obviously we paid a lot of money for this and I also put a lot of effort into writing down all the bands and singers we like to make the music as catered to us as possible. We also discussed this on the phone, so I’m not sure what went wrong.

There were lots of positives as I have mentioned - quick set up, the setlist itself for the live music was wonderful and just what we'd asked for. There were frustrations however with the DJ music played in-between which did affect how we felt throughout the evening.

They were perfect!

We knew we wanted a band at our wedding and had heard of Blue Lion Band before. We went to one of their showcases and from then on we knew they were right for us. Communication with Dessie was great from the start - the process was very straightforward and everything you needed was online.
What can we say about the band on the day?! They were PERFECT. Better than we could have imagined. Every single one of our guests loved them and complimented them. We even have people asking for their details now.
They were one of the best investments for our wedding day and were worth every penny. Special shoutouts to the singers Marlon & Denquar - they were both superb.

Great wedding band!

Blue Lion Band performed at our wedding and were brilliant! Simon was so helpful in the build up, making sure we had everything planned out and was really flexible on the day. We had lots of comments on how great the band were, and they really made our night!

We loved this band!

Made our wedding a night to remember for us and all of our guests

If I had a pound for every time someone had told me that this band was the best they had ever seen, we’d be a very wealthy couple. Professional and welcoming throughout the whole process and unbelievably good on the night.

This is the band for you, trust us!

Having a dedicated producer and the comprehensive planning page meant we were able to specify exactly what we envisaged for our day, and Blue Lion Band then delivered exactly that.

The best part of the wedding
