Sonore String Quartet is a Maidenhead, Berkshire-based wedding band. For celebrating your special occasion, Sonore String Quartet, which won the Bridebook Wedding Award for 2019, offers the perfect music to make the event more memorable and unique. The group members boast over 100 years of experience and over 500 arrangements in their collection. In addition, for weddings, they provide custom musical settings and cater to every type of personal taste in music.

Services Offered

Sonore String Quartet is known for its professional approach, great attitude, and exceptional appearance. They can play at big and small events, as well as all wedding-related functions. This includes wedding ceremonies, drinks receptions, as ‘background’ music for a meal, to accompany the choir, or to put on a concert. Sonore String Quartet is available as both a quartet and a trio. Their services cater to different budgets and are very versatile with their styles. Their repertoire features popular baroque and classical pieces, easy listening/jazzy numbers, 80s/90s ballads and other classics, and current chartbusters. They are ready to travel and cover Southern England, South East Wales, Oxfordshire, and the Midlands.

How far in advance should I contact you?

As soon as possible! We normally take bookings around a year in advance, but please contact us if your event is closer than this as we may have availability for the date you would like

Yes. Please contact us and one of our players will arrange it for you if it is suitable to be played by a string quartet or trio

What's your experience?

As players, we have over 120 years of professional experience between us.Since forming Sonore in 2017, we have played at 100s of weddings - all of which are as unique as the couples who have booked us

Do you have your own equipment?

Yes

Do you need specific materials or conditions to offer your service?

No

Can you travel?

Yes, southern England including London, South East Wales, Oxfordshire, midlands. We are happy to travel for 2-2.5hours from our Berkshire base, but will also travel further

Is there a charge for travelling?

Yes, we try to car share where possible so will charge to cover our fuel costs

Do you cover more than one wedding a day?

Yes

Do you work alone or do you have a team of professionals?

With a team

What is the length of time of the act?

The shortest time we play for is for your ceremony (around an hour), but we can play for up to 6 hours - ceremony to end of your wedding breakfast and for your first dance

How much time do you need to prepare for an act?

We are working together all the time, so we don’t need additional time to prepare unless you require a bespoke arrangement of a piece

Do you do open-air acts?

Yes

Do you charge per hour or per event?

Per event

If needed, would you be able to work extra hours?

Yes

How do you charge extra time?

If we are able to stay for longer than your initial booking, we would have no problem playing for longer - this would be at £15 per performer for each 30 mins

Absolutely amazing

We got married in January after a few postponements! And we could honestly not recommend Sonore enough. Kathryn was a joy to deal with, she responded to my emails the same day and was so helpful with all the changing dates.
The actual day was wonderful, we got so many people saying how amazing they were and that they loved the song choices. Honestly the best day and I cannot thank Sonore enough! ❤️

Wow! Just wow!

Wow! What can I say? I don’t think any words I write will do justice for just how incredible Sonore string quartet are and how special they made our wedding on the 18.12.21 at Claridges. From start to finish they have been so warm, friendly and professional. They are extremely organised and keep on top of everything from booking, to song selections, to the running of the day and all the logistics. They made everything so easy and I had no stress or worry from the moment I booked I knew they were going to be amazing and they were. Everyone on the day could not compliment them enough they are extremely talented musicians. If you want want to make your wedding or event special then Sonore are for you! I will definitely be rebooking, I could listen to them play all day! Thank you so much Sonore String quartet it was truly a pleasure to meet you all and listen to you play. Best wishes, Eloise x

Excellent!

Wow! Amazing!

Wow - Sonore strings totally blew us and our guests away. They were spectacular! Really added an element of class and luxury feel to the day, we were so impressed with them.

Kathryn was really responsive and helpful throughout. They’ve got a huge repertoire to pick from, but they even went to the trouble of learning a new song for us which was so special. It was a exceptional!

Cannot recommend these guys enough - they made our day!

It had always been a childhood dream of mine to have a string trio at my wedding. Sonore made that dream come true!
Kathryn and her colleagues went above and beyond to play music that matched our style and tastes. One of our most cherished moments from our big day was listening to a very special song played by Sonore when everybody else was inside. Such a prescious memory and one we shall forever remember.
So, thank you. Thank you for making my childhood dream come true. Thank you for taking so much care and attention to make our special day unforgettable. But most of all, thank you for going above and beyond.

Sonore made our wedding!

Sonore were absolutely fantastic from booking to the wedding day. I dealt with Kathyrn mostly who was super professional and so thoughtful in helping us decide the perfect pieces (i know nothing much of classical music). Their music was superb and they really made our wedding - genuinely! I cannot recommend highly enough. Thank you so, so much guys x
