THE GOLDEN FLUTE (with Saxophone and Trumpet) is an accomplished musical duo playing flute and guitar, based in Shropshire. We are professional musicians and friends, Naomi and Jacob. Naomi plays the flute and saxophone, whist Jacob plays the guitar, trumpet, electric keyboard and other brass instruments, which has added a whole new flavour to the repertoire we now offer. We are willing to travel to other counties near to Shropshire, which is negotiable. As a duo, we have known each other and played music together for over ten years.

We originally met, when Naomi joined the 'Ellesmere Vintage Band' as the solo flute player. Naomi has been playing the flute since she was seven, as she reveals in our conversation in our 'introductory' video. Naomi, currently, plays in the Shrewsbury Concert Band, The Welsh TV and Film Orchestra and also in a local trio that plays music for different charities.

Jacob has had a musical background all his life. He has played in military bands, and can play many instruments, including guitars, most brass instruments, piano and electric keyboard, percussion and more lately Irish whistles in different keys. He is a singer/songwriter with his own recording studio and he has released two albums and two singles, on major streaming platforms since September 2024. Jacob is retired now from Interfaith Ministry and is following his passion to work as a musician full-time.

As THE GOLDEN FLUTE duo, we offer a personal and flexible approach by working with you to add a little magic to your special day, event or ceremony. This may be live music during a meal, entering / leaving the wedding ceremony, providing background music or a meaningful piece of music at the signing of the marriage register. We are able to play music around themes, such as, 'Scottish, Irish, Folk, Film Scores, Musicals, Pop, Classical' or something more lively to suit all tastes.

Although we are a duo, we can create a 'big band sound' when we play with our pre-recorded backing tracks, that have been created in our own studio. We can play 'live' with these supportive tracks or just as a flute/ guitar/ electric keyboard. You can see examples of us playing together in our videos on this website. Therefore we can offer a 'unique' musical menu to suit all occasions and venues.

Our fees are 'negotiable,' starting from £250. This fee depends on how far we have to travel to your venue, the amount time we are with you playing music, and any other 'special requirements' involved. We can promise to be highly professional, reliable and we both have a friendly, approachable manner. It would our privilege to work with you planning the music for your event, so that it is a 'meaningful, magical and a forever memorable' experience for you, your family and friends.
