The New Retros is a wedding band based out of Manchester, England. Travelling throughout the northwest of the country, this group of musicians puts on a soulful and energetic show. They'll work hard to get every guest on the dance floor, celebrating your biggest moments in style. These musicians studied at some of the country's best schools and have years of industry experience, and are excited to help you commemorate the day.

The New Retros will be on hand to support you throughout the music planning process and will create a personalised playlist for your wedding. You're invited to meet with them for an initial consultation to talk about your musical tastes and ideas for the day. The band will curate a setlist based on what you like, playing pop and rock hits from the 1950s up to today. They usually play in three stages, around the meal, and can arrange a DJ to continue the music when they finish their set.

Of course! We are all professionally trained musicians from top UK music schools, and we all have many years of experience in the function band space, so there's nothing we can't do!
What's your experience?
We are veterans of the manchester music scene with many decades of experience between us. We know how to get the party started and how to get every person in that room dancing - yes, even that Auntie

Can you travel?
Yes, all of the UK, and even abroad if you can pay for us to get there! We have all played across the world and all over the UK
Is there a charge for travelling?
Yes, we tailor our final price according to your venue location and how long you want us there. We are always fair and transparent with our pricing and never charge more than is necessary
Do you cover more than one wedding a day?
No

What is the length of time of the act?
This is up to you, we usually recommend 3 sets to work around the evening buffet. We also offer a playlist DJ after the third set for an additional £50 if you want to keep the party going longer
How much time do you need to prepare for an act?
We will work with you and your wedding timeline to arrange load-in and set-up times
Do you do open-air acts?

How do you charge extra time?
Please book a consultation to discuss this, as it depends on the time. Extra hours earlier in the day will be cheaper than adding hours later into the early hours of the next morning

Absolutely exceeded our expectations in every way!
We recently had the pleasure of hiring The New Retros for our wedding, and they absolutely exceeded our expectations in every way. From start to finish, they were professional, talented, and incredibly easy to work with.
Their performance was the highlight of the evening. The band had an incredible ability to read the room and adjust their setlist to keep the energy high all night. They played a great mix of genres that had everyone—from our aunties and uncles to our friends—dancing. Their vocals and musicianship were top-notch, and it was clear they loved what they were doing, which only added to the infectious energy on the dance floor.
We’ve had countless guests comment on how amazing the band was and how they made the night truly unforgettable. I would happily recommend them to anyone else looking to book a band for there wedding!

Absolutely incredible -
We booked the New Retros for our wedding in July and they were one of the best decisions we made. It's always hard to be 100% sure when you've not seen a band perform live, but please do not let that worry you, they honestly surpassed all our expectations. From initial contact, right up to the big day itself they were quick to answer any queries and we felt like we were in safe hands.
They learnt our first dance especially for the day and performed it brilliantly, and then just read the room playing tune after tune! It was a really hot day, one of the first we'd had all summer and so we were worried people would rather be outside, but the dance floor was packed all night. This was down to the incredible set list and the energy they brought! We also added the sax quite last minute and so glad we did!

100% Recommend - Our guests didn't stop dancing!
We had the absolute pleasure of having this band play at our wedding at The Alnwick Garden in July 2024, and they were nothing short of fantastic!
They were able to organise and play our favourite song live, Fleetwood Mac's "Everywhere," for our first dance, and it was perfect—such a special moment for us.
The energy and talent they brought to the evening were incredible. The singer was phenomenal, and the band’s performance was flawless from start to finish.
Our guests couldn’t stop raving about how much they enjoyed the live music and the song choices. They ended up dancing to the music all night long. The bands communication leading up to the event was seamless, and they were perfectly on time with everything. They were very clear on requirements, setup times, etc.

Dance floor never emptied!
This band blew our socks off for our wedding! They played two 60 minute sets with DJ-ing in between. Our dance floor never emptied- which was all we wanted for our special day. They even performed our first dance song - it was truly magical. All of our friends and family praised what an amazing band we had chosen. They were very easy to communicate with and played all our favourite songs. We highly recommend choosing them for your wedding day.

Wedding Band - Amazing
What an amazing band! We can’t recommend them enough. They were at our wedding from the beginning to the end. So professional and learned our first dance song which sounded fantastic ❤️ we had an awesome day it was perfect and the New Retros were brilliant 🎶

The New Retros made our wedding unforgettable!
The New Retros were one of the best parts of our wedding day! The dance floor was packed and nobody wanted it to end. Pete and the rest of the band were so professional and so fun, they really brought something special to our wedding. We had been worried as our first dance was a bit different, but they did an incredible job of it. Niran, the bandleader, is brilliant, even from the first email, you can tell he wants your day to be perfect. 10/10 would recommend

A Maid of Honour’s dream!
For a first time being maid of honour to the most beautiful bride, the New Retros were like a dream come true. They took all the stress away and above all else delivered on their special day better than I could even imagine. Their first energy was contagious and had everyone up dancing the whole night away. Fantastic Start to Finish
We had a really fantastic experience with The New Retros. From day one they were communicative and accommodating of our plans, from sending an excellent set list to choose our favourite songs to arriving earlier on the day which allowed us to use their microphones and speaker system for our speeches. All our guests were full of praise for the band, and they helped make it such a fantastic day!

Absolutely brilliant
The New Retros played at our wedding last month and they were fantastic from start to finish. Really easy to book, great communication, friendly and professional. We didn't ask them to play from a set list, we just chatted about the kind of music we liked and they read the room really well.
On the day, they came on time and were really friendly and polite. They played so well, everyone had such a good time. Loads of people came up to us to say how good the band were.
Definitely recommend to anyone looking to book a wedding band! They are very talented with great energy and made us feel really at ease.

Unforgettable night
The Band made our wedding night. It was exactly what we wanted-great energy from start to finish, and guests having the best time with us on the dance floor until the very last song. Our first dance was a special request and performed exactly the way we had hoped for- upbeat, fun and set the tone for the night immediately. We were really impressed that even between sets, Niran managed our playlist and picked the perfect song for the moment- reading the room absolutely spot on. The band are all incredibly talented and their repertoire is impressive-something for everyone and ensured the dance floor was never empty. Can’t thank you enough for an unforgettable night!
