Stay away!

Worst company ever!
Won a ‘competition’… customer service seemed great until I booked and they received my money.
Communication is awful, they blame you for everything if you explain your having issues… I was supposed to recieve a confirmation within 7-10 days booking. I heard nothing month after… I tried making contact with them to have nothing back.
I couldn’t access the customer portal due to not receiving my confirmation email. So couldn’t email them. I had to contact the tech support despite it saying not to try and get hold of someone. Only to get a passive aggressive response. I’ll be trying to get my money back.
But stay well away from this company!

Recent hire - Terrible

Equipment is batteres for starters. Turned up with half a working light which also had a hole in it. Scratches all over the unit, looked like it had been well used. Certainly not wedding appropriate.

iPad was locked and customer support said I was lying. I had to send screenshots to prove I wasn't and refused the code. Then customer support told me I could have the code but I was apparently being rude asking for help. (Tonnes of screenshots of the unprofessionalism)

Stickers all over the unit with 2 different support numbers so you've to guess which to use

Avoid this company

No communication, you think you are getting a good deal but you are not. The props were broken and sticky. I paid for extras- did not receive and have had no communication from the company. Awful.

Brilliant!

I won 2nd prized so got this at a reduce cosy, so glad we did as it was so much fun added to the wedding I have recieved the photos and they are great just shows people having a really good time!

Terrible Company

Please please don't use this company. They are incredibly rude and the state of the equipment was shocking. Our wedding was beautiful except for this shocking equipment covered in return labels. Several elements didn't work and it had exposed wires. After raising a complaint they threatened to charge us £25 per message if we kept contacting them and have refused to give us our digital photos because we complained. They have no business running a company.

Awful Experience! Avoid!

Unfortunately I had a pretty terrible experience with this company, and cannot in all good conscience recommend them.

BoothIY was unable to send me what I had booked and paid for, because the booth they were going to send me wasn't returned to them on time. I fully understand that this was out of their control and do not blame them for this. I was, as a result, sent a "downgrade" from what I paid for, but was reassured that the cost difference would be refunded to me. As this was only 4 days before my wedding, I had no choice but to go with it.

The day after my wedding, the refund still wasn't showing in my bank account. I chased this up, and I was told that it would be reviewed in due course. I had to chase up my promised refund several times before I finally received it (almost two months later). Customer service was very poor and lacking. Sometimes I would send emails that were completely ignored. I was told that the lack of action and response from themselves was because I had told them that I had wanted to put in a formal complaint and they were waiting to receive it, however, I trawled back through every single email I had ever sent them, and at no point did I state that I was wanting to put in a formal complaint.

On the day of my wedding, the equipment didn't work properly. First off, the iPad asked for a 6 digit passcode, which wasn't mentioned anywhere in the set up instructions. My Dad messaged the WhatsApp helpline (you're not allowed to call; you can only message). 20 minutes later, he still hadn't received a response, so he sent the message again. About 10 minutes later, the iPad was unlocked and we were good to go. Or so we thought...

The first 2 or 3 groups of guests happily had their photos taken and received their print outs, when all of a sudden, the printer icon on the pad greyed out and stopped working. Once again, my Dad contacted the WhatsApp chat, and was given a troubleshooting tip, which unfortunately didn't work. He was told that the issue was likely something simple, but in the interests of keeping the evening moving, BoothIY would print the photos upon return of the pod and post them out to me. This wasn't ideal, but there were guests wanting to use the pod, so we went with it. People were able to put their phone numbers and email addresses into the pod to have the photos sent electronically anyway.

The pod was carefully repacked at the end of the evening, and collected by DHL the next day. From that point on, I had zero communication from BoothIY to confirm that they had safely received their equipment back. I began to worry that the pod had been lost in transit and that I would be held liable for this. However, exactly one week after my wedding reception, people began to receive their photos electronically. I took this to mean that the equipment was safely back with BoothIY, however I was a little annoyed that not only were my guests unable to print their photos on the night, but it also took a whole week for them to receive their electronic photos. I understand that the reason the electronic photos didn't go out on the night is because there was very little 4G signal at the reception venue, but it shouldn't have taken almost a week for BoothIY to connect the pod back up so that the photos could go out.

Getting my printed photos back from them took way too long. Their contract states that any photos that need to be printed and posted will be done so within 28 working days of them receiving the pod back and processing it. However, it took them almost a week to get around to processing the pod! Tuesday 5th December 2023 was the 28th working day from the date that the pod was processed, and my photos (from my October wedding) were posted out to me on the 5th December, so they literally left it as long as they could before sending me my photos. All this time, I had guests getting in touch with me asking where their photos were, because they would really like their copies. And I now have a bunch of photos that I need to post out to my wedding guests at my own expense, including to people in France and Spain.

Overall, the pod itself was fun to have at my wedding, my guests enjoyed it (once they could actually start using it), and the photos do look great. BoothIY's concept is a good idea - a self-managed photo pod service, which is more affordable than a conventional photo booth, therefore making it more accessible for people on a budget. However the idea is very badly executed - BoothIY's communication is lacking, and the customer service is very poor and on occasion borders on plain rude. BoothIY caused me a lot of hassle and stress in the weeks after my wedding, and for this reason I sadly will not recommend them.

If you want a photo booth then save yourself the hassle, spend the extra money and book a staffed photo booth from a reputable supplier local to you! I certainly wish we had!

My wedding captions

Well I was bit worried at trying out something like this where your not in control and only talking through a portal or email.
But my expectations were wrong from the start had a couple of issues with my email on my side and it was sorted without charge as it was my fault. The information to set up for Boothiy was pretty simple with deposits opitions and reminders for full payments by email. Then very Efficient with reminders of Certain documents ID event prep and delivery options was very simple. I would advise someone else looking after this for you if it’s your event as I found it very difficult to pack away with a slight hangover not what you wanna be doing the day after your wedding. It was a very easy to set up very easy to pack away and very easy with the instructions left out for you in the box. Overall good experience and worth every penny.

Please don't give a penny to this so called business

Please don't give a penny to this company. The way they speak to paying customers is shocking, like you are dirt on their shoe.

If you have any issues whatsoever, they will talk to you like your stupid and threaten you with extra charges. They aren't interested in offering any customer service whatsoever.

Any comments left on Facebook get deleted and you get blocked (funny that).

This was the only negative part of our wedding day. Pay that extra money and go elsewhere, it's not worth the stress, especially on your wedding day. Please avoid them.

Rude and unhelpful! AVOID

I "won" a runner up prize from a instragram post and got 50% off, thought this was great and added add-ons as I was getting it cheaper. We had issues setting it up and then when we asked for help from technical support it took them a long time to respond and then when they did they accused us of not following instructions properly. The printer didn't work and once again told we breached the contract.

After the event I didn't get any communication to say the booth had been returned safely and I wasn't sent the gallery link. When I messaged to ask for the link to be resent I was sent a message saying it is in my customer portal and they will no longer help me. The customer portal did not show the gallery and I sent screenshots proving that the tab was not there. After I put a complaint in they then sent me the link and said due to the issue and me contacting them they will block my gallery and my case was in review and they will charge me for this. Once they shared the link with me it suddenly appeared in the customer portal.

This could be such a fantastic thing if the customer service was more helpful and friendly and less "blame the customer".

I work in website design and website system management, when my customers say they can't see something I help them or look for potential fault on my side, not just say it isn't my issue.

Also the pink flower wall was not the same as the pictures.

Everyone had so much fun

We hired the pod for our wedding and everyone had so much fun using them and especially getting to take a copy home with them! The picture quality is amazing and set up and return was really simple! Would definitely use again for any future parties thanks

BoothIY is a great idea!

BoothIY is a great idea! So much more flexible than having to hire a full booth and attendant and meant we could set it up where we liked. We bought a separate gold foil backdrop and some curtain fairy lights and made a banner to go with them and everyone loved using the booth. We put our guestbook nearby and nearly every page was filled! The printer was easy to use, we just had to refill the paper every now and then. Our venue took custody of the delivery from DPD, who were great and phoned with an ETA in advance of arriving on site. All in all a great success, thanks BoothIY!
