one thousand words wedding photography is a documentary wedding photography duo based out of Dorset and Hampshire, based on the sunny South Coast. They have over 30 years of combined experience shooting weddings all over the UK and abroad with over 400 happy brides and grooms.
Wedding photographers Tom Wishart and Murray Lambert share a passion for photographic creativity and providing stunning, evocative wedding images to couples from their special day. Their instinctive, unobtrusive approach allows them to observe wonderful moments as they are about to happen and capture them as they unfold.
These friendly wedding photographers use a blend of styles including documentary, landscape, detail, fine art, macro, black and white, fashion, portrait, and experimental photography. This duo is honoured to preserve some of life's most cherished moments through photographs that are as unique to every couple as their wedding day itself.
Toim & Murray have a UK-wide reputation not only for high quality, jaw-dropping images but for working in a friendly, relaxed manner as well as first-class customer service. All of their services are designed to reduce the stresses of wedding planning, wedding photography, and the big day itself.
Services Offered
one thousand words wedding photography offers a luxury "All Inclusive" service for weddings as well as proposal and engagement photo shoots and luxury wedding album design and printing.
All of one thousand words wedding photographs are carefully curated and individually processed resulting in the highest quality stunning wedding images possible.
Their "All Inclusive" service includes two photographers, meetings, planning and guidance, an engagement photo shoot, and wedding photography coverage without time limits.
After the wedding, couples will receive digital images in a private online gallery, full-sized and web-optimised wedding photographs on a custom engraved wooden USB, and a mini 'accordion' linen album all presented in a gorgeous custom engraved wooden 'book' case.

How far in advance should I contact you?
We tend to get booked a year or two in advance, especially for summer dates. So contacting as soon as you have a wedding date is pretty important

We include 100 miles travel in our 'All-Inclusive service'. Further travel charges are calculated depending on requirements

Fantastic Photographers
One Thousand Words have been amazing, from start to finish. With a friendly and very professional approach, they have delivered an epic set of photos which beautifully captures the vibe and atmosphere of our wedding. We One Thousand Percent reccommend them.
From the moment we met Tom at a wedding fair and saw the documentary-like approach and beautifully artistic style, we knew we had found our photographers. They way they play with light was very compelling. Our engagement shoot was a great and relaxed experience, generating some amazing photos. Tom made us feel very comfortable behind the lense and gave us a great idea of what to expect on the big day.
On the Wedding day itself, Tom and Murray were excellent. Like silent camera-ninjas they did a fantastic job of being everywhere and nowhere at once, but always there when they needed to be, to capture so many genuine moments of joy throughout the day. Their relaxed and story-like approache worked perfectly with the relaxed vibe of our day and they both were great to chat to which made the whole process great fun and flowed so smoothly. Its almost a shame they had to work that day and couldnt have just joined in with our guests, as they fit right in.

Tom and Murray are just wonderful. I am a human who absolutely hates attention and photos being taken of me and Tom was just excellent at grinding me down (in a good way) and making me feel comfortable. They were like extra guests at the wedding and everyone commented on how amazing and lovely they were to be around. I barely noticed they were there and they put up with a lot of awkwardness from me! If you’re after relaxed, not over posed and photographers that feel like your friends, Tom and Murray are for you!

A wonderful celebration of our wedding
Absolutely outstanding service. Very friendly and funny photographers that all of our guests loved.
Tom organised our payments into manageable chunks, communicated with us regularly about ideas and engagement shoots etc. Tom and Murray were also incredibly accommodating to everything we asked - even our huge list of family photos.
They were great fun on the day and the perfect balance of blending into the background and fitting in with our guests.
The photos are outstanding and make me smile every time I look at them.

I couldn't have asked for better
We had Tom and Murray photographing our wedding day and they made the whole experience perfect, I didn't notice them taking photos which made the photos even better, the photos were amazing. I felt so at ease with them about. All our guests said how amazing they were and that they made them all smile, the children kept going up to Tom and Murray asking them to take their photo and they not only obliged but made sure they were having a great time. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a photographer.

Wedding Photography Perfection
Where do I start. I had the pleasure of meeting Tom and Murray at my best friends wedding in June 2017. I loved the way they felt part of the wedding party, and the quality of the photographs they produced for my best friends wedding were exceptional. I got engaged in May 2018 and had no doubt that I wanted to use One Thousand Words for our wedding. We were initially planning to get married in May 2020, then November 2020 and due to Covid both weddings were cancelled. Tom and Murray could not have been more supportive during this really difficult time - I knew I'd made the right decision in choosing them as our wedding photographers - but they are both so much for than photographers. Our wedding finally took place in November 2021 and our photographs are just stunning. It's hard to find the words to describe how great they are. They have such a great approach in how they engage and interact with people, they feel like part of the family. This is not your standard , you stand here or there. They capture feelings. They capture personalities and on showing my photos to friends and family they have said they can feel the joy and happiness in the photos coming through. And they are so funny! Everyone at our wedding commented on how professional and friendly they were and that they were a huge part of the wedding. Don't look any further. Tom and Murray were incredible, they captured all aspects of our wedding day perfectly and made us feel very calm and relaxed.

Couldn't ask for more!
Tom & Murray did an outstanding job of capturing our special day.
Leading up to the wedding the guys were really good at communication, we had to delay twice (thanks Covid) but the guys were great with the rearrangements, and afterwards kept us up to date on when we'd receive sneak peaks and final photos.
They were an absolute delight on the day, Tom was promoted to honorary bridesmaid as he was on hand to help out with flowers and hair and definitely "one of the girls".
We trusted them 100% on the day, and were totally open to their suggestions and we have been rewarded with the most amazing photos. We have so many that are our "favourite" we really are spoilt for choice.

Top Quality
Tom and Murray were very professional,well groomed and blended in perfectly. They were very reassuring,fun to be around and we couldn’t have asked for more. We would highly recommend them and wouldn’t hesitate to ask them again for any more celebrations.
