Gail Photography is an award-winning wedding photographer based in Clarkston, Central, and Glasgow, covering milestone events all over Scotland. I have been a professional photographer for 27 years.
I specialise in reportage photography, preserving the most meaningful aspects of the day in a highly creative and relaxed way. From the early morning preparations right through to the evening reception, the whole day is covered in a contemporary fashion. Above all, I aim to give each couple the personal attention needed to ensure their wedding day becomes more than just a memory.
Services Offered
All my bookings begin with an initial meeting where in couples can share the day's plans and their special requirements. I will also conduct a site visit to the venue if it is somewhere I have not photographed before. Closer to the wedding, couples can avail of a second consultation to finalise timelines and set up a plan for the day's sessions, including any group shots. On the day, I will provide full coverage from the morning preparations to the first four dances in a relaxed, photojournalistic manner. All images will be available to view online 2-3 weeks after the wedding before couples receive a USB brimming with as many as 800 high-resolution images. I also do a preview of 10-20 images 48 hours after your wedidng day.
A bespoke wedding album is also available, designed entirely by me.

What does the wedding package include?
All wedding packages include full days coverage with an average of 700 images on a personalised USB, 2-3 weeks after the day. Images are also displayed on Gail's password protected online gallery
How far in advance should I contact you?
As soon as you have your venue booked and date confirmed just get in touch
Do you cover more than one wedding a day?
No
Can you travel?
Yes, mostly Scotland but willing to travel anywhere
What is the charge for travelling?
There is no cost for anywhere in Scotland or Northern England. If I need to stay overnight or use a ferry then that will be added to the price of the package
What style of photos do you take?
Photo journalism
What kind of technology do you use?
Digital
Do you use a specific technique or innovative approach?
My approach is very natural and easy going. My aim is to tell the story of your day by a mixture of candid and set up shots. I like the couples to just be themselves and enjoy their day
What kind of equipment do you use?
Two Canon digital cameras with different focal length's and two Canon flash guns. Two studio lights with softboxes and stands
Do you offer any tool to display the photos online?
Yes, my password protected online gallery on my website
What's the delivery time for a photographic report?

Most Professional Photographer
Gail was amazing during the day our guests barely noticed her because she was able to capture so many candid moments. She noticed every little detail and knew how to work with the venue. Her experience really came in handy when our ceremony ran over and we had limited time.

Brilliant!
Gail was a part of our Scottish wedding, which took part in the east end of the city at St Luke’s and the winged ox. She was very considerate , as she took us for an initial walk through of our location and surrounding areas, giving great suggestions to photo shoot moments of our big day. On the day we were unable to be outside but she didn’t let that stop her and we were able to use the indoor space for some great shots! She spent most of the night with us and the party, taking natural and candid pictures of speeches, dancing, food and other events. Gail was also able to rattle through many big family and friends pictures to capture every person who attended the wedding. Finally, due to the weather and the inability to go for the amazing photo shoot in Barrowlands on the day, Gail met up with us on another day through the week so we could capture some of the amazing scenery and iconic features of the Glasgow venue! We are very thankful to Gail for her time, and expertise. She captured so many amazing moments and pictures we are happy to frame!

Couldn’t have asked for more!
Gail is an exceptional wedding photographer, she went out of her way to give us amazing photos and was so organised. We literally have hundreds of favourite photos and cannot recommend her enough. Gail is exactly what I wanted and needed in a photographer. You can tell she is highly experienced and her advice and communication throughout was excellent! All my guests commented on her friendliness and attention to detail on the day and she has captured the most beautiful photographs, we could not be happier!!

Amazing service by an amazing photographer x
What can I say? From start to finish Gail was outstanding. Such a lovely girl which makes everything just so simple.
She took the time to familiarise herself with the venue (which changed) and spent lots of time ensuring she understood exactly what we wanted from her.
Throughout the turbulent time and the changes that ensued, nothing was any trouble at all.
On the day the wedding Gail was just like one of the wedding party, so at ease and fitted in just perfectly. We were all so relaxed with her and Gail with us which made it fun rather than an effort.
Gail was fantastic with everyone, oldies, kids and our wee puppy too! She kept everything on time and was overall absolutely superb. Couldn’t have asked for a better service.
The proof was most certainly in the pudding when not only did a lovely selection of photographs arrive the next day which was just fantastic, the photographs where exceptional. Everything we could have hoped for captured in such a natural and relaxed way.
Within a week I have access to all my proofs and the pictures just get better and better.
In summary, Gail was fantastic in every way and the finished product testament to that!

Perfect day captured by a perfect photographer
Fantastic, stunning, perfect what more can we say, we are absolutely thrilled with our photographs. Gail made us feel so at ease from start to finish, and captured the day exactly how we wanted to remember it. She went above and beyond the call of duty, and even though it was a blustery March day we still got the magical photograph of Tinto Hill and the Clyde in the background, which Gail timed perfectly when it got slightly brighter, a true professional! We got married at Cornhill House Hotel, Coulter and the photos Gail has taken have captured our wedding day magnificently, we couldn’t be happier, and couldn’t have asked for more in our wedding photographer. Gail was our wedding photographer in August 2021. Gail was amazing from start to finish. We had 2 postponed dates due to covid and Gail helped put us at ease and changed our dates.
We had a zoom meeting with Gail before our wedding and she really listened to what we wanted and what photos were most important to us.
Gail was incredible on the day capturing the most beautiful and candid moments and also organising our wedding guests for group shots! We would highly recommend Gail!

Lockdown Wedding!
We had a wedding when numbers were limited to just 20 so our photos were even more important than normal times and Gail’s photos did not disappoint!
Gail was so great ahead of the day, happy to chat about all the different shots and groupings with our guests we’d like. On the morning everyone was so comfortable with Gail and getting the photos felt so easy, although with awkward restrictions in place the photos in the church are some of my absolute favourites!
The compliments we received on the photos after the day blew us away and confirmed we made the perfect choice in having Gail take them.
