Gary James Photography - Hybrid Wedding Photographer and Videographer
Located near Motherwell, Glasgow, Gary James Photography creates authentic images and videos from weddings throughout Scotland. Gary and Rachael are the husband-and-wife duo behind this creative business. It's their main goal to provide their coupless with a bespoke collection of images and videos that will be cherished for years to come. Gary is the photographer and videographer and Rachael deals with all the admin and bookings. Rachael is now trained as a second photographer and content creator which she offers exclusively to our existing couples at an additional cost.
Services Offered
As a Hybrid Wedding Photographer/Videographer, Gary James Photography offers a range of wedding packages for you to choose from. Our most comprehensive collection includes full-day coverage, professionally-edited images and videography, a slideshow of all photos with music, a luxury and professionally printed photo album, and more. When it comes to documenting your special day, Gary adopts a candid and natural approach which in turn allows your celebrations to flow naturally.
Packages
Our two most popular packages are our Diamond & Eternity Packages.
Diamond - £1745
Includes: Photography and Videography coverage from morning preparations until first few dances. Expect to receive approximately 500 images from your day, plus a minimum 20 minute highlight video of video footage captured throughout your day set to music; full unedited video of your ceremony and full unedited video of your speeches. All images set to a slideshow with your favourite music. Delivered as an online gallery as well as on a USB stick.
Eternity - £2145
This package is the same as the Diamond package but also includes a 40-page Luxury Professionally Printed and Personalised Album. You are fully involved in the design process for this, choosing your images and cover material and colours.
We also have 2 more packages for those who don't want photography and videography.
Platinum - £1295
Includes: Photography coverage from morning preparations until first few dances. Expect to receive approximately 500 images from your day. All images set to a slideshow with your favourite music. Delivered as an online gallery as well as on a USB stick.
Rose - £895
Includes: Photography coverage for up to 4 hours. Perfect for the more intimate Wedding. All images are fully edited. All images set to a slideshow with your favourite music. Delivered as an online gallery as well as on a USB stick.

What does the wedding package include?
We currently have 4 Wedding Packages - full day photography & videography coverage is £1745. Full packages can be viewed at: https://garyjamesphotos.co.uk/wedding-packages-prices/
How far in advance should I contact you?
As soon as you can after booking your venue! We are fully booked for full day weddings in 2023 & 2024, although can accommodate small half-day packages. We are taking bookings for 2025, 2026 and 2027
Do you cover more than one wedding a day?
No
Can you travel?
Yes, we are based in North Lanarkshire, which is perfect for travelling to venues across the East and West Central Belt. We will travel up to 1 hour 15 minutes to a venue as part of our packages
What is the charge for travelling?
Travel from my home (ML7 5RN) is included up to 1 hour 15 each way. After this, travel expenses will apply. Depending on distance, this may be an overnight stay

My approach to wedding photography is to keep things as relaxed and natural as possible; this is the perfect way to deliver excellent photography . Candid and natural photographs capture the emotion
What kind of equipment do you use?
For me; Canon are an industry leader who have been at the forefront of pioneering technology for years. That's why I use Canon for al of my equipment. Each of our cameras capture images on 2 SD cards
Do you offer any tool to display the photos online?
Yes, yes, we display your images on a private, password protected beautiful online gallery. This also links to our fabulous printer so you or your guests can order prints, frames and wall art direct
What's the delivery time for a photographic report?

Do you work alone or do you have a team of professionals?

On enquiry however our packages are arranged from event to event, - e.g. from bridal preparations to 2nd/3rd dance. However if you need me to stay later, please enquire for a quote

On the day, I work alone however, my wife, Rachael, does a power of work in the background. You'll be dealing with her a lot in the lead up to your Wedding

The best day
We booked Gary James Photography for our wedding at Enterkine house in October 2023.
From the very first moment we booked we had constant dialogue and they were so easy to keep in contact with via WhatsApp and email. We also had a meeting with Gary a month or two before the big day where he covered every single detail and left no stone un turned to make sure nothing was missed. They were genuinely the only supplier we didn't have to chase up ourselves as they always messaged us to keep us right and answer any questions.
Gary was an absolute star on the day and captured everything from start to finish and covered both wedding party's getting ready himself which was good going as they were about a mile apprat lol. Nothing was too much trouble for him he even helped the boys tieing their laces the right way on their kilt socks! He then captured everything from the ceremony throughout the whole day up until the 4th or 5th song of the evening reception and even having to think fast to dodge a couple of rain showers in the afternoon. Gary took time to speak to all our guests and each and everyone of them commented on how lovely he was and how easy he made the whole process feel.
At no point did any of the photos feel like a chore as Gary had a brilliant process of getting them done smoothly and efficiently.
After the wedding Rachel was so so helpful, we were only expecting a few preview shots but within a couple of days we had around 60-70 photos which we were absolutely blown away with. Nothing was too much to ask and all our questions were answered straight away. We absolutely loved the style and editing straight away of our photos but we had the option to change it if we wanted which is great.
We now have our full gallery and USB and we absolutely love them and still look at them almost every day. Gary's style of photos is exactly what we have always wanted for our wedding since the day we got engaged, he absolutely nailed it.
Gary and Rachel are honestly the best and we can't thank them enough for everything they done for us

Truly amazing service!
We got married in June and Gary and Rachael have been truly amazing right from the moment we booked them! We met them at the Scottish Wedding Fair and were drawn to them as they are so friendly and down to earth. Communication right through from booking to recently receiving our album has been fantastic and it was so reassuring to know they were so planned and organised, this left us with peace of mind that we could count on them to keep us on track ahead of and on our special day.
Gary was brilliant on the day, he was so calm and chilled despite the number of family and friends shots we requested. We genuinely don't know how he managed to take so many photos alongside the videos, he truly captured every moment of our special day which means so much!
Despite it being peak season our preview was delivered to us after a few days and our full gallery and videos we shared within a week, we were lucky enough to be on honeymoon when we received these and it made our evening when we received them! Gary captured a wide variety of different shots from formal family ones to really natural ones and we can't thank you enough for all the amazing photos you took- the quality of the photos are fab and the colours are so vibrant!
Rachael did a fantastic job sharing our gallery and editing the videos, along with managing to squeeze all the photos we wanted into our album! Our album is stunning and we are enjoying showing this to all our friends and family.

Couldn't have been better
I actually don't have enough words to explain how amazing Gary and Rachel were, not just at our wedding but the lead up and afterwards.
I found them through a Google search and called for a chat. without meeting them I was ready to book because Rachel was so lovely and chatty and really put my mind at ease about the booking process.
the Comms have been superb from newsletter updates,emails and even some Instagram patter.
on the day Gary was great at putting everyone at ease, gave us clear instructions on what we needed to do and even helped with some of the getting ready process, despite his chicken attack 😂
we got our images less than 2 weeks later and every single shot was fab and we loved our videos.
they really helped make our day perfect and we can't thank them enough ❤️

Everything we wanted and more!
We cannot recommend Gary enough! His attention to detail is incredible and he blended right in at our wedding. Looking back through our photos felt like reliving the day because he had captured every moment! Him and his wife Rachael are so lovely. Rachael was so helpful and got back to us right away in the run up to the big day and afterwards! We felt very looked after.

Amazing dream team!
We got married in September 2023 and Gary and Rachael have been amazing throughout the whole process, so helpful, such nice down to earth people and they make such a great team! Rachael was the first vendor we spoke to over the phone and she put us at ease and helped us so much, as soon as we came off the phone we knew that Gary James Photography was who we were going to go with! Every stage they have kept us informed and the pre-wedding meeting was so thorough and they were able to help us plan out the day and what was going to happen, down to every detail! This was the first time we met Gary and we just clicked!! When it came down to the day Gary was on ball, he was everywhere, keeping us calm, speaking to our guests and everyone just loved him! He did exactly every picture I asked for and was so creative with the pictures too! And finally when it came to pictures and videos - WOW! What can I say but WOW! They are everything and more of what we envisaged for our wedding and they will be memories to keep forever and show hopefully our kids one day! It’s sad the process is over now but looking forward hopefully to again work with Rachael and Gary in the studio someday! They are such an amazing team and would highly recommend anyone to use them for any video/photography!

Where do I even start with this review. I can not thank Gary and Rachel enough for everything
From point of enquiring and booking with them they cared about us and what we wanted. It was that, that encouraged us to book in the first place. What I never expected is when my wedding venue went into liquidation they would be on hand for support advice and also so adaptable with me moving venue. Rachel was like my very own wedding councillor
Then the day itself was amazing Gary is like some sort of stealth ninja all over the place getting photos I don’t even know how he managed to get all over the ceremony room without anyone noticing. When I looked back at the pictures I couldn’t believe half the images he got. He was unreal so creative and so caring to what we wanted.
Which made all the difference.
Then the end result oh my actual god I can’t get over how amazing they are!! I am so in love with all my wedding picture. Not only did the photos exceed all expectations they also came quicker than I could believe which was such a nice touch that I had my preview straight away and then the gill lot well before I thought I would. Gary expertly catered to everything we need and wanted. Even my
Friends and family keep talking about what a legend he was
I really liked how I ended up chatting back and forth so much with Rachel she was like a friend. Such a great personal service.

Cannot recommend enough !!
From the very first message from Rachel I had good vibes about choosing Gary to be our photographer ! What an amazing team they are , great communication and made us feel at ease ! I felt like I’d known Rachel for ages 😂 Gary was fantastic on the day , no awkwardness at all it was all relaxed . He took some amazing candid snaps of us naturally laughing which I love and also worked with us to get our pictures on and over the Forth Road bridge . Can’t believe how quick we received the preview and then all the pictures and videos . We are so so happy with them all and cannot wait to create our photo album . Cannot recommend Gary and Rachel enough !

Great wedding photographer
Gary was a photographer at our wedding in September. Both photographs and overall quality of service were excellent. All our queries were promptly responded to and they really put us at ease in the run up to the wedding and on the day itself. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a photographer for their special day.

More than we could have ever imagined!
From the minute we enquired about wedding photos we literally could not fault either Gary or his wife Rachael - such a helpful couple that explained everything so well without being the pushy type!
Rachael was there to answer any questions we had with a very quick and informative response.

Linzi& Grants wedding
When our original photographer dropped out jut weeks before our wedding Gary and Rachel stepped in kept us in the loop with everything going on and made us feel at ease from the first meeting right through to the end of our wedding day nothing was too much trouble for them. Within days they had our preview photos& video sent to us , and even went out their way to deliver our usb sticks to our door. We truly can’t thank them enough as they went above and beyond and made our day extra special.
