Hey there! I'm Gary Williams, an award-winning wedding photographer. I take beautiful photos of people who don't like to pose. My work has been displayed in galleries across the world, published in books, the New York Times, displayed on billboards and (most impresively) printed on tea-towels!
Before I lived in London I spent most of my life in Grimsby (fish and chips), so you'll find me pretty down to earth and straightforward. Before this photography lark I was a full time singer and that took from Buckingham Palace to Carnegie Hall so I am used to working under pressure and delivering when it really counts.
Here's what I love about photography, especially weddings - I'm all about capturing those genuine, heartfelt moments that'll be treasured memories for the rest of your lives. I am really passionate about telling your story with pictures that really take you back to the day and make you smile, laugh and maybe cry a little. I love that stuff!
I've had the honour of having my work featured in the New York Times, ArtDoc Photography Magazine, World of Interiors Magazine, Dodho Magazine (photography awards), officially selected for the International Photography Awards, Honourable Mention in the London Photography Awards, the Historic England National Archive, exhibited at the Decode gallery in Arizona, the Hellenic American Union Annual Exhibition, the Art Square Gallery in New York, the Chania International Photo Festival, the Trieste Photo Festival, the Glasgow Gallery of Photography (in their Masters of Street Photography exhibition), the Shutter Hub annual exhibition at Cambridge University and F-Stop Magazine's 20th Anniversary exhibition. I love wedding photography and was delighted to win the Hitched Wedding Awards 2024. All that good stuff side, what truly matters most to me is you and your story.

The perfect wedding photographer!
We found Gary from a recommendation of another photographer at Camden Town Hall’s wedding fair, and what an amazing recommendation it was!
From our very first call, Gary made us feel incredibly calm, giving us the perfect balance of being able to plan our wedding day like we wanted but also giving us golden advice from his own experiences in photographing weddings.
Gary was always available for idea calls and met us a few weeks before the wedding, spending almost 2 hours with us roaming around the Kings Cross canals where we really wanted to take photos after the wedding, making sure to plan out the photo spots to make use of time effectively on the actual day.
On the actual wedding day, Gary was so professional and INCREDIBLY kind to all our guests (we received multiple compliments to forward to Gary on the day and for weeks to come after the wedding). We’re incredibly awkward with posing and Gary lived true to the promise of taking some beautiful photographs whilst making us feel natural and comfortable. We have countless, gorgeous photographs of our guests having fun, our wedding and vows and group shots after the wedding.
Also, my dad mentioned to Gary that he’s excited to see the photos soon and be able to send them to the family and Gary took this to heart and had our photos ready for us to download and view the very next day!!
Overall, we could not have been any happier choosing Gary as our photographer and we’d recommend him to anyone and everyone in a heartbeat ❤️

Gary is an excellent photographer and really good with people
We had the absolute pleasure of working with Gary as our wedding photographer, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience! From start to finish, Gary was extremely professional, he took the time to meet with us before the big day to understand exactly what we wanted, which made us feel so supported and confident.
On the day itself, Gary was incredibly organized and handled our large family during the group shots. His calm and friendly demeanor made everyone feel comfortable, and it showed in the photos. The photos turned out amazing, we were really impressed with the quality, and also that Gary sent them to us the very next day!

Fantastic photographer
Gary is a very talented photographer, and he is also very professional and organised. He understood our vision, our needs, our ideas and made it happen with his creative touch. It’s unbelievable how he was able to transcript our beautiful moment in a photo reportage, capturing all emotions throughout the key highlights of the day. Also what a surprise when we woke up the morning after and the reportage and instagram posts where already ready for us to share with our family and friends, it made the moment last longer!

Brilliant candid photographer
Gary covered our wedding at Wasing Park in April 2024, and he was absolutely fantastic. He predominantly shot in our preferred documentary style and produced a gallery of candid images that really captured the emotion of our big day, while he also catered to our request for a set amount of staged family portraits. We're delighted with the resulting library of images (available in monochrome, as well as high-definition), while he also produced an excellent video slideshow of his favourite photographs.
Gary was transparent about working hours, rates (midweek, and out-of-season) and deliverables during our initial meeting, and took the time to learn more about us both. He then went into further detail when discussing the logistics and requirements of our wedding day in our planning meeting, and confirmed our specific requests, shot lists etc.
On the day, he arrived at the venue early to scope out the location and create contingency plans in case of poor weather (which were needed!). He was professional, charming and polite throughout, making us feel at ease despite us not being comfortable in front of the camera. He was not intrusive or pushy, but was also clear on his instructions and suggestions in order to maximise the key moments of our day.
Gary communicated closely with our venue event manager to help remove unnecessary stress, and was quick to adapt plans when required. He checked that we were both happy and didn't require any more photographs before heading off, and edited all our images incredibly quickly (three days!). We would definitely recommend Gary to anyone looking for a wedding photographer specialising in documentary-style images.

A fantastic experience
Gary was absolutely amazing and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to others.

Made the right choice!
My husband and I chose Gary to be the photographer at our registry office wedding. We definitely made the right choice and I highly recommend him!
Gary has gone above and beyond on our special day arriving early to find the best places for beautiful pictures, looking after our small wedding party, capturing natural moments without getting in the way, and making sure everyone was comfortable while posing.
