As someone who is incredibly hesitant and uncomfortable when it comes to having her photo taken, it would take a very special person to ensure that our wedding day was captured in photographs (so incredibly well) without me even really noticing. Paul Tansley is exactly this person. He is a consummate professional from beginning to end of working with him and his work is exceptional. We chose Paul because of the look of his work and didn’t really believe our wedding day would be just as beautifully captured. We didn’t want stuffy and posed, just wanted our guests and ourselves at our most relaxed best. We were absolutely delighted with his photos - he captured everyone so well.

From the moment we enquired to the final email with our wedding slideshow and photos the service is so personal and the work they produce is professional, the advice and guidance and support was incredible. What an amazing couple who ooze passion and are so friendly and accomodating. My husband did not want to invest in photographers when we started the wedding budget but I can wholeheartedly say he now agrees it was the 2nd best decision he made besides marrying me:-)

Paul and Carol came very highly recommended - and from our very first meeting with them, we could see why. We were absolutely delighted with every aspect of their service from the very beginning - their advice was invaluable and their professionalism on the day was truly outstanding. The mark of truly good wedding photography is for the perfect pictures to be taken, without noticing that they’re being taken. This was certainly the case, as they captured so many wonderful moments without ever being remotely intrusive. To say that we were really pleased with everything is an understatement - family, friends and colleagues have all commented on how excellent the photos are - both the ones for the main album and all the additional ones. The highlights slideshow was also a lovely idea - the music chosen was so appropriate, as were the photos selected. It was really quite emotional watching it, which we repeatedly do. We can’t thank them enough for their outstanding work and will always be full of praise for them because, as far as we are concerned, they made the perfect photographic record of our perfect day.

It can be daunting hiring people to help with your wedding but I'm sure it will relieve you to hear that this is the one. We hired Paul solo for our legal ceremony of us and 8 family. He guided us through what to expect and the day itself superbly. The photos have come through and they are stunning. We are incredibly happy with our choice and happily recommend Paul to anyone. Worth noting that the popularity means the photos can take a bit of time to come through but they're well worth the wait. He's so popular for a reason.

For me, looking for a wedding photographer was a really daunting task. I was very keen on having an unobtrusive photographer who would capture moments from the day rather than endless formal photos.

From the beginning, Paul made us feel at ease. He was professional and dedicated to getting us the best photos from our wedding day. He talked us through the whole day from his point of view, so we knew what to expect and answered any questions we had.

On the day, both Paul and Carol were amazing. At points we forgot they were there and we knew that they were capturing everything we wanted them too! Paul even helped me rescue a bumble bee that got caught in my dress!

Tansley Photography was responsible for providing the most natural, engaging, joyous and interesting photos for our registry office + pub wedding in the South Downs last summer. We had already received so many compliments about their work on the day (as they were incredible discrete and unobtrusive throughout, whilst still being always present in the corner of the eye and ready to capture our day's best moments!). Though once we received the photos we definitely realised we had turned a spectacular day into something that will truly last forever. We are going to submit our wedding to specialist magazines as we feel it was too beautiful to keep just for ourselves and because we want to inspire other couples to have a beautiful wedding, with lots of guests, but that also does not break the bank. Also in this sense Tansley Photography offer an incredibly honest service and guidance that provides value for money. They are passionate about wedding photography and make it pure artistry, they have their hearts in the right place.

Out of the dozens of photographers we approached, we ended up choosing Paul & Carol as our photographer for our wedding in Summer 2022 and we couldn’t be happier with our choice.

They are very professional and clearly veterans in what they do, they also gave us advice from their experience for what to plan and expect during our big day. They were very open and communicable whenever we had any queries leading up to our big day.

During our wedding, they were so friendly and we loved their subtle approach in addition to their silent cameras, which made it feel as if they blended into the background. Their presence also made us feel very comfortable and neither our guests or ourselves ever felt that we needed to pose or look at the cameras.

When we received our photos, we were stunned by the quality and quantity of the pictures they took. Every photo was incredible, detailed and captured all the special moments, which brought us lots of happy memories looking back. Every photo clearly shows that they spent lots of time and care refining each picture to highlight the emotional moments of when the photo was captured.

We truly enjoyed their company and we would highly recommend Paul and Carol both as they work great as a team and they are definitely worth every penny to treasure those special moments of a wedding!

Cannot recommend Paul highly enough. His style of documentary style photography, his humour and his uncompromising approach to capturing the shots he knows will be great, completely contributed to the success and our enjoyment of the day. From joining us getting ready and helping us relax, to the very end, it was a total pleasure having him as part of our wedding celebration. And the pictures enable us to relive parts of that day every time we view them. Not your false posed pics, but a moment by moment memory of the wonderful day.

We got married two weeks ago and cannot recommend Paul and Carol highly enough, if we could give them more stars on this review then we would! From our first call (where we mainly talked about Italian food and drink!), we knew we were in very safe hands; they are such a warm and compassionate couple who obviously love what they do and are extremely good at it. Following that they were so lovely and supportive through us planning our wedding in the pandemic.

They encapsulate the reportage photography style - we felt we were able to completely enjoy the flow of the day as it all unfolded, and Paul and Carol unobtrusively captured all of the wonderful moments as they happened. My husband adopts a grimace style smile for posed photos, so having so many beautiful candid natural shots was perfect for us. The photos are absolutely stunning, our friends and family love them and we can't stop looking through them. It's going to be very difficult to choose which ones to print as they are all amazing! We loved sharing moments with Paul and Carol throughout the day, and in the morning they were both so supportive and kind when we were feeling nervous and excited.

Paul is technically great – but what he really excels at is freeze-framing emotion. My wedding day was the best day of my life and he bottled all the joy and happiness capturing it for us forever. I can’t stop watching our fabulous slide show which works so well with the music he chose for us. It’s been great sharing with our guests as well as all those who couldn’t be with us given the pandemic. I can’t recommend Paul highly enough – this is the one thing you should spend your wedding budget on because you will have it forever.

First things first – the wedding photos we got back from the Tansleys were stunning. Every time we look back at our wedding photos we fall in love with them again. Paul and Carol captured the day perfectly. The emotions we all felt, the personality of our guests, and the grandeur of the venue have been preserved in a way we couldn’t even begin to imagine.

But it isn’t just the photos we’re grateful for. Paul and Carol, while shooting, are as slick and unobtrusive as they promise. They’re also an absolute delight as a pair. From our first meeting together, to any pre-wedding calls, and during quiet moments on the day, their personality, advice and assurance is something that we’ll remember and appreciate as a big part of our special day.

I cannot recommend Paul enough. After months and countless hours of planning, the wedding day goes by very, very fast so choosing the right photographer is absolutely critical. Paul really did exceed my expectations, and his years of experience and expertise in wedding photography mean that those special moments will be beautifully captured for us to treasure and look back on. The photos are quite simply sensational and breathtaking and I will never know how he did it and got so many special moments but he did - he really is exceptional!
