About
Hello! I'm Darcie; the photographer behind the lense at Darcie Mae Photography.
I would describe myself as a storyteller - though you may know my style of photography as documentary photography. This is an unintrusive style of photography which observes the day as it unfolds organically without manufacturing the order of the day.
From the first time we speak (hopefully via Zoom or an initial phone call), I start to weave your story together, learning about your tastes, backgrounds and the things that brought you (and keep you!) together as a couple and how you've chosen to show those things on your big day. Most of all, my job is about telling the story of the people that you surround yourself with in the big moments; whether that's just the two of you, you and your little ones or you and all of your nearest and dearest. I've incredibly proud to have been part of many couple's stories from capturing their proposals to their engagement shoots to their weddings to the christenings of their children!
I know weddings really well by now, and know when to step in and make a suggestion so that the photos will work better or so that the bride or groom will feel more at ease in front of the lense. You can trust me to be doing the hard work so that you don't have to; without looking like I'm breaking a sweat (but I guarantee that I will be!)
I also offer a heavily discounted 'engagement' or pre-wedding shoot to my couples so that they can have a practice run before the big day too - a great chance to get to know me and to get used to being in front of the camera to ease those wedding day nerves - some of my couples have used these photos on their wedding days for their table centres, personalised bottles of wine and thank you cards!
I'm heavily inspired in my work by nature and my surroundings - so if you're up for sticking your wellies on and getting stuck in for your couples photos, so am I! I'm not afraid of getting muddy so that my brides don't have to, but I also love an elegant castle wedding or a modern city shoot.
I'm a big fan of an intimate wedding so I have a price plan that caters to weddings as small as 10 people as well as packages for weddings of over 100, so please don't hesitate to get in touch even if you're not sure what questions you should be asking!
I look forward to hearing from you.
