About me - and my offer to you
I am a passionate wedding photographer who covers events in the Edinburgh/Lothian, Scottish Borders, Newcastle, Northumberland and Cumbria areas.
Photographing weddings in a genuine pleasure for me – and not just a business. Being invited to spend time with couples and their families on the happiest day of their lives is a huge privilege and an equally large responsibility. I aim to capture all the big ticket moments of your day: the all-important bridal (and sometimes groom) preparations in the morning, the bride’s walk down the aisle, the essential family photos and speeches – and the cutting of the cake. But just as important are the little details: intimate looks between couples, the rings, the dress, the shoes and the spirit of the day through close attention to your choice of flowers and decoration.
My photographs are about colour and movement. It is so important to me to capture the colour popping from the bride’s bouquet or the subtle lighting as it changes throughout the day. Equally important is capturing the swish of a dress and the movement of your guests as the party gets going. Most of all, my wedding photography is about capturing the fun and celebration of your day and ensuring you have a set of beautiful pictures that evoke the atmosphere of your wedding to cherish for decades to come. The photographs can be as posed or as candid as you like – but whichever your choice, I will do my very best to ensure you’re at ease and enjoying yourself.
My fee for five hours
If you aren't looking for a photographer to capture the entire day, I charge £450 for 5 hours (less a 5% Hitched discount making it £427.50) plus any parking costs.
My fee for a full day
In return for my fee of £800 (less a 5% Hitched discount making it £760) and any parking costs, I will photograph your wedding from the bride’s preparations until an hour after the first dance. I will deliver 35 headline images within a week of your wedding, with a total of around 350 images within a month of your big day.

What does the wedding package include?
The full day wedding day package includes photographing the bride getting ready up to an hour after the first dance.
Alternatively, my five hour offer spans any five consecutive hours you like!
How far in advance should I contact you?
Whenever you like - but the more notice, the better to avoid disappointment (and so I can visit the venue before the big day to plan my shoot)
Do you cover more than one wedding a day?
No
Can you travel?
Yes, northumberland, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Carlisle and the Lake District / Cumbria
What is the charge for travelling?
I won't charge for travel if the venue is within 50 miles of Newcastle or Edinburgh - but a nominal 10p a mile thereafter

Do you use a specific technique or innovative approach?
I focus on using the available light to produce evocative, timeless images. Some couples prefer a certain kind of 'look' and I'm happy to accommodate any requests. After all, it's your big day!
What kind of equipment do you use?
Full frame Nikon DSLRs and top end lenses
Do you offer any tool to display the photos online?
Yes, i use www.passgallery.com so that you can instantly download, share and print the images as soon as I've uploaded them
What's the delivery time for a photographic report?
1 month

Wonderful Wedding Pictures

Captured the day
Niall was an amazing photographer. From the moment we contacted him, he was great at keeping on touch and answering any questions we had. On the day he just went about his business in an unobtrusive way. How he captured the photos he did, I do not know. We have had so much feedback from guests at how good he was and how the photos have really captured the spirit of our wedding. We are delighted with the memories we have through the photos.

Couldn’t recommend enough!!!
I’m not sure where to start. Niall was brilliant from start to finish. His passion for his work is clear and he works to understand exactly what the couple are looking for from their day. He was super responsive before the wedding while we were planning and on the day when things had to change, such as the willingness of our toddler to play ball any longer. The turnaround of our photos was in lightening speed time and we love the quality of the pics! He went above and beyond throughout. Got to know us, our venue and made our day perfect! Superb photographer!
Niall was brilliant. He blended in with our friends and family on our wedding day which meant we ended up with some wonderful pictures.
We received some headline shots within a week of our wedding and very shortly after the main collection. We would highly recommend him. Thank you so much again Niall!

Amazing man
Niall is incredible with his photography and obviously very passionate about his job. We had a fantastic day with him and he really captured the whole day perfectly. He was a joy to work with, very responsive with any queries and has incredible talent in enacting his vision.

You need look no further, Niall was amazing.
Myself and my partner got married in October this year and was joined by Niall from Light Brush Weddings for our special day.
In the run up Niall offered a really personalised service, offering to see our venue and making sure everything we wanted was possible on our day concerning our photo's.
On the day itself Niall made myself and my partner feel really comfortable and was an essential part to our day. Niall was so easy to get along with and all our guests loved him. In addition, Niall went on to offer us an additional evening at reasonable cost for our larger evening party.
Niall got our photos to us very quickly and we were so delighted with the result it brought us to tears.
We would both suggest Niall to anyone getting married in the North and cannot thank him enough for all his hard work.

The BEST photographer ever
It was an absolute joy to have Niall as part of our day! He made us feel so at ease which was important for a couple who don’t love photos, and a very anxious bride. We didn’t want to do too many “posey” shots, but Niall encouraged us to do the ones we were comfortable with which gave us some lovely shots. He also got so many lovely candid pictures which is exactly what we asked for! We also couldn’t believe how quickly Niall got our pictures back. We got our headline pictures back within 3 days and our entire album back within 15 days. We could not have asked for anymore from Niall and would recommend him to anyone!!

Dedication - He lied on the floor in order to get the best shot.
Professional - He didn’t want to stop until he took the perfect shot.
Friendly - Big big smile all the time. I didn’t feel intimidated or embarrassed at all. He is just like a friend straight away.
Service - I received ALL of my pictures within a week. Good pictures, good quality pictures in A. WEEK. !!!!! (I’m sure he might take longer sometimes but he kept me posted about his progress throughout the week, and he gives super friendly replies too.)
Personal - I was ridding a horse, he was chasing after us with two cameras and a bag on him (bless him.) Just to get some good shots. I’m sure same situation with other photographers, they would much prefer we stay still lol.

Amazing photographer
What an absolute fantastic photographer, did a real professional job and was so easy to work with. Had us doing photographs and just moving us 6-7 inches so the pictures were perfect. He arri ed at the Ramside for 8.30am to take pictures of my wife getting ready and was there til we had the first dance at 8.30pm! Cant wait to see our pictures and im sure they will be tremendous. I would certainly recommend this photographer for the price and his professionalism. Never stopped taking pictures and didnt even know he was there most of the time! Will put some pictures up when we recieve them off Niall.

Amazing, couldn’t be happier!
Fantastic from start to finish, from communication to perfectly capturing our day. We all felt so at ease and the quality in the images is outstanding.
