About
Hello! I'm Spencer and I'm an Australian-born photographer now based out of sunny (sometimes) Somerset and photographing weddings all over the South West and often further afield. If you’re looking for a photographer that is there to document the real and genuine moments, I reckon we might be a good fit.
Firstly, congrats on getting engaged!
My style of photography is mostly of a kind of documentary nature. I don't like to interfere when I don’t need to and I like to let things unfold as they naturally would. I think it’s about making it more about you and less about me and supplying you with a set of images at the end of it all that let you delve back into your day and relive it over and over.
I like to photograph togetherness and connection; I don’t really value anything contrived and forced. Sometimes that togetherness is really light-hearted, sometimes it’s more of a quiet moment. But, either way, when you and your partner are together being yourselves and laughing with each other, or being close with each other - that is what I love to photograph. Those are the sort of moments I think that really transport you back in time. That's why I think it’s more important to document how it felt, not just how it looked.
There are times throughout the day from start to finish that are those moments of closeness or togetherness - and so I try not to limit the amount of time I’m with you. That’s why I mostly offer an all day package that sees me with you for up to 12 hours; that’s usually a couple of hours or more before the ceremony, until at least half an hour into the dance floor chaos. I don’t want to miss a thing. You can also add on a second shooter, an album and engagement shoots if you’d like.
Prior to recently making the move to the UK, I was based around Sydney on Australia's East Coast. Something I'm often asked is why I left the beautiful beaches of the South Coast for the UK. The truth is that there are a couple of reasons; firstly, my beautiful wife is originally a Somerset lady and she wanted to return to hre family while we raise our two blonde haired lads, and also, I really love adventure and the unknown. I like to be outside of my comfort zone and our life ein Sydney was definitely in my comfort zone. I loved the idea of doing something new and different, I’d I’ve lived that Australian life for 30 years - so here we are.
