Choosing a photographer for such an important life event is quite nerve wracking - it feels important to get it 'right'. What I can say is that from the outset we were put at ease by Mark and his care and attention to detail and customer service are phenomenal. He took time to explain his shooting and editing processes - showing us examples of his work whilst also enthusiastically talking through our plans and his knowledge of the venue. His approach is professional, warm, and friendly and his skill and passion for his craft really shines through. It was clear throughout how he truly cares about his clients and the results he achieves. We found it so helpful to have a pre-wedding portrait shoot and planning session with Mark at our venue Bisham Abbey. On the wedding day itself (we chose the 8 hour option) we really got to appreciate Mark in action - he is wonderfully creative and responsive as a photographer and he beautifully captured the precious moments of our special day as they unfolded. When needed he gently guides and directs but otherwise he blends seamlessly into the background doing a fantastic job. Mark is wonderful! A great photographer and a wonderful human being. Mark has been referred to us, a Swiss bride and an American groom, from our wedding venue Head of Events at the Hartwell House in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, England. Right from the beginning at our first meeting, Mark was very kind and so enthusiastic about being the photographer on our big day that we felt very welcome and very well taken care of. He provided guidance as to how professional photography works during a wedding, explained his personal style and provided samples. Our request for less saturated photos was warmly received. We booked Mark for 9 hours on our wedding day as well as during the drinks reception of our Welcome Dinner the night before the wedding. Both were a huge success! Mark was both invisible and able to take lively photos as well as worked in a way that our guests loved him and his photos! This continued on the actual wedding day when he was around to take photos of every moment of that day whether naturally or staged. With our bold and vibrant tropical colour scheme, we were initially concerned about how it would translate in photos, but he handled it with finesse. From the first time we met Mark at the Missenden Abbey wedding show, we were certain he was the ideal photographer for us. He had a great personal manner and a clear vision of what would and wouldn’t work. As well as this, his work speaks for itself. We loved the candid shots and unobtrusive style that was clear through his albums. We quickly (same day) made a booking for our wedding.

In the build up to the day Mark met with us at our venue, Tudor Barn in Burnham, and he had some great ideas for shots that ended up being some of our favourite pictures. His use of lighting for pictures at night made for some stunning images that we’ll always cherish. His experience of having worked at the venue previously meant we were very happy to just take his direction.

While Mark is obviously great at what he does, I would like to particularly call out how he became a real part of the day – from updating the groom on what was happening when the bride was a little late, to the relaxed way he interacted with the guests which led to some amazing candid pictures, he was an absolute pleasure to have at our day and we would whole-heartedly recommend him.

Our wedding celebration was just the most perfect day with all of the people we wanted to share it with, but it was over so quickly. There were so many friends to hug and speak with, so much to take in, so much to celebrate in all too short a day and night. Thank goodness for Mark! Mark captured our wedding in so many wonderful photographs giving us our life-long memories to look at over and over again. We have so many beautiful photographs of the two of us in intimate and joyful moments, our families and friends with us and together in smiling happy pictures through our day and evening celebrations. Everyone is there, but what was really special are the ones of us and our bridal party, not posed, but relaxed and natural just as we wanted. Mark Sisely? Why him?
Our human celebrant and friend who was to conduct our wedding recommended him. We met Mark several weeks before the big day and I thought him to be a rather easy-going pleasant man. As we were walking around the venue grounds, Mark could envision many photo opportunities for me and my partner for the big day. He told us that he would try to be as unobtrusive as possible and capture people as they were interacting with each other. He did this really well; I did not always remember speaking with, hugging, laughing and joking with our dear guests, so it was nice to have that reminder. He really captured the spirit of our special day and I will always have fond memories.

So why did we choose Mark Sisley Photography to capture our ‘Big Day’?
That’s an easy question to answer. It was a recommendation.
The Celebrant who conducted our ceremony, who is a childhood friend and whose judgement can be absolutely trusted, had conducted previous ceremonies where Mark was the photographer. The Celebrant said that we should speak to Mark and that she recommended him as “he had a fantastic way with people”. That certainly proved to be the case at our wedding too. Mark put everyone at ease and captured the day both perfectly and naturally.
The quality of the end product was enhanced due to the preparation work that Mark put in beforehand. He met us at the venue a few weeks before the wedding, so that we were not strangers on the day, and had a good reconnoitre of the venue and grounds so that on the day he knew exactly what to capture, where and when.
