Hi, I'm Sarah, owner of the Hertfordshire-based Wedding photography business Purple Kite Photography. Photographing your wedding is about preserving a fleeting moment and creating precious memories which will last forever. I aim to document every detail of your day, from the big moments to the intimate interactions in between, producing relaxed, fun photos that capture the atmosphere of the day.
It is such an exciting time, planning this special day which celebrates your love for each other and is the start of a whole new chapter together, but I get that planning a wedding can feel very overwhelming. Please remember, your wedding photos are one of the few wedding day purchases which last a lifetime and more. You should feel confident that your photographer will capture all of the key moments and people in a style that suits you, and will spend time editing them to a high standard afterwards, creating something that you will treasure forever.
How I work
Purple Kite Photography is built on a genuine passion for telling visual stories. Your wedding day is all about you so I work around your plans, capturing moments as they happen, offering a relaxed and natural style, and capturing authentic emotions whilst blending into the background. And I won't be taking you away from your guests for hours to take endless gimmicky posed shots.
I always meet the couple in advance of the wedding day if possible. Remember, your photographer will be shadowing you throughout the day, often from early in the morning whilst getting ready, so it's vital that you get on well! It's also helpful to chat about what you'd like from your photographer on the day and to create a list of essential photos and important people in advance of the day to ensure that all of those things will be captured, meaning you won't need to worry about it on the day.
Services Offered
On the day, I start when you want me to, and have a range of packages which begin at 4 hours and go right through to the first dance and beyond! To get a full picture of the services I offer, I'd love to meet for a coffee and begin designing a bespoke package that fits perfectly with your day.
Although I'm based in Hertfordshire, I'm very happy to travel to capture your day!

What does the wedding package include?
The Gold package includes 4 hours of my time for Wedding ceremony and portraits. Platinum includes 8 hours and the Diamond package covers 12 hours and includes an album and prints
How far in advance should I contact you?
As far as possible. Though you can always check in with me for last minute availability, you may get lucky!
Do you cover more than one wedding a day?
No
Can you travel?
Yes, hertfordshire and surrounding areas. I'm willing to travel to anywhere in the UK (subject to travel expenses)
What is the charge for travelling?

My style is very relaxed. I love to capture magical moments naturally using documentary style; I blend into the background and shoot the story of your day as unobtrusively as possible

Sony Mirrorless camera and prime lenses. All images are edited using Lightroom to match my editing style. Retouching is also available if necessary

Simply the best!
We asked Sarah to be our wedding photographer for our small family wedding at Parklands Quendon Hall.
We asked Sarah to photograph before the ceremony, during the ceremony and for group shots after. Sarah was relaxed, professional and made everyone feel at ease from start to finish.
We didn’t have to wait long for the final images ( I even got sent a sneak preview of one that night of the wedding! and when we received them all we couldn’t believe how stunning they were. We’ve shown them to family and friends who all loved them.
We were so glad we had Sarah, to be our photographer, she fitted in with the day perfectly and we are so thankful for the photographs she took of our day. They are lovely memories that we will always cherish and look back at. Thank you again. Danielle & Sam xx

Sarah was absolutely amazing from start to finish, from first contact to the actual day to then receiving our final gallery the whole experience was perfect.
The communication before the wedding was great and we felt totally at ease with Sarah. She made sure she knew exactly what we wanted captured on our day and even met us at the venue beforehand to get a feel for the place. On our wedding day Sarah was just amazing, she made everyone feel so comfortable and relaxed and was there capturing all the special moments throughout the day while also blending seamlessly with the guests, nothing was too much to ask and she was just brilliant in every way. Sarah had sent us a selection of sneak peeks as soon as the evening of our wedding which were incredible and we have just received our final gallery back a week after our wedding which we are blown away by, the images are stunning and are such a beautiful way to look back on our day. We are over the moon and can’t wait to share the pictures with all our friends and family! Thank you again Sarah!

Capturing memories
Having Sarah there to photographs our special day was incredible, just like she was a guest. During our initial meeting we outlined what we wanted and she went above and beyond. Absolutely fantastic!!!
Sarah is the most lovely person and a talented, attentive photographer too! Our wedding photos are incredible and we're unbelievably over the moon with how they came out! Sarah made us feel comfortable and put us at ease during our photoshoot and for the rest of the day, we didn't even know she was there, capturing all the beautiful moments! I cannot recommend Sarah enough as a photographer, she's really truly amazing and we're so grateful that she captured our day so perfectly!!!

Just wow!!
We recently used Purple Kite Photography for our wedding. If I had to sum our experience up in one word it would be ‘wow!’
Before we made contact we looked on the Purple Kite photography website which has lots of examples of Sarah’s work and plenty of information regarding packages available.
From initial contact Sarah was brilliant in every way. Constant communication and quick to reply to any questions we had. We feel as though Sarah went above and beyond. We initially met to discuss wants, needs and expectations and straight away we knew Purple Kite Photography ticked all of the boxes. Sarah is very professional, kind and easy to get on with and we loved the fact that she instantly formed a bond with our 18 month old. After our initial meet up and we exchanged contracts Sarah stayed in constant contact, she even carried out a recce of the wedding venue before the wedding so she knew the best locations to capture our special day.
On the Wedding day Sarah was just as brilliant as she had been leading up to it and she even sent us some sneak peaks of what she had captured as soon as she got home.
In just over a week, Sarah sent us a link to view the finished article and words cannot describe how blown away we are. The photographs are amazing! Captured in such a way it felt like we was reliving it.
We would strongly recommend Purple Kite Photography, Sarah made our special day that little bit more special.

Our wedding on the first hottest day in June 2023
Sarah is an amazing photographer, she captured every moment of our glorious wedding at the Henry Moore Studios & Gardens on the 10 June 2023! It was the first hot day of the summer and I’m really impressed by Sarah’s ability to capture people mid conversation & laughing and joking together and the amazing choir too. I felt emotional looking at the photographs again! Thank you Sarah for capturing those precious moments & making our wedding so special! Professional, talented, wonderful photographer!
I am so glad we choose Sarah to be our wedding photographer, from our first phone call, to a chat over coffee I knew she was the one for the job!
I don't know how she does it but you just don't know she's there snapping away, she makes it seem so effortless! She knows how to put you at ease, exactly where you all need to be and doesn't fanny about!
Sarah was super quick at getting our photos to us and WOW they are amazing! They are natural, effortless and captured the absolute joy we felt on the day, we couldn't have asked for more.

Perfect photographer for the perfect day!
Having my photograph taken it my worst nightmare! But I couldn’t have wished for a nicer more reassuring photographer. Sarah made me feel comfortable and confident throughout the wedding. Sarah is amazing!
We were recommended Purple Kite Photography by our wedding venue as Sarah had done weddings there before and they could not have been more spot on on the recommendation. Sarah was amazing on the lead up to our wedding, on the day and sending the photo's through after. She was always quick to respond to any questions we had, met with us before the day to go over what we had planned and how we wanted the photo's to look, and sent through the pictures so quickly afterwards. Sarah was brilliant at capturing the day perfectly and we could not be happier with the photo's that we were sent through to us after, I can't wait to get them printed and framed. So glad we found Sarah (Purple Kite Photography!!)
We had a micro wedding at Hertford County Hall in April. I found Sarah online and her photos were so beautiful and relaxed... so I was so happy when she was free on our date. Sarah is warm, easy going, so professional and turned our pictures around really quickly. The pictures are stunning and already up on our wall. We will definitely book her again for any family events (and we thought we hated having our photo taken!). Thank you Sarah for capturing our day, funny expressions and all!
