Silverbird Photography is a wedding imagery company that covers weddings in Newcastle, Durham, and beyond, and is based out of Durham city in the North East of England. Owner Emily Carey delights in capturing couples’ love stories in an unobtrusive and creative fashion. She strives to preserve the candid emotions, in-between moments, and unique highlights of wedding celebrations in images that are timeless with a contemporary twist.

No two weddings are the same so I approach each wedding as individually as you! I work in a documentary reportage style and edit each photograph in my signature style

Canon digital SLR's, two camera bodies and plenty of spare equipment as back-ups just to make sure!

Yes, a password protected online gallery

Stunning photos and professional, relaxed approach
Emily is a fantastic wedding photographer and we couldn’t recommend her highly enough!
We loved Emily’s approach and use of lighting when researching photographers and we knew when we met up for a chat that she was the person to capture our wedding day. We wanted someone who could be unobtrusive, grab some candid shots of the day and still take those all-important family and group shots.
Emily delivered on everything we asked and more, including some excellent advice emails in the lead-up, and the photos speak for themselves! She even managed to keep us calm when we turned up to find the Civic Centre doors locked 10-minutes before the ceremony and that’s priceless!

Superb experience
We were a bit nervous after seeing intrusive photographers take over weddings in the past.
This was never going to be a problem with Emily. She wizzes around getting amazing photos of everyone looking amazing and is such a lovely person it’s a pleasure to have her alongside you on the day. We think she’s utterly fabulous and would and do recommend her to everyone! Thank you Emily 🤩

The best decision we made!
Emily was so professional - we didn't notice her once during the ceremony or reception, but somehow she managed to get some incredible, intimate shots of the whole event. The photographs were of such high quality, and really captured the essence of the day. I would highly recommend her to anyone!

Absolutely Fantastic
Emily's planning tips were wonderful to read through and gave us a really good idea of what to expect on the day and how to get the absolute best photos, ensuring we didn't miss any important ones. She was always on hand to help us be in the right spot for the best picture. It was brilliant to go for a walk with her around the grounds of the house on our wedding day, and her ideas on how we should stand and what we should do were never pushy or too much, always creating the most wonderful outcomes.
Emily blended seamlessly with the guests, and I didn't notice her in the cathedral, but when I looked back over the photos, I realized she was everywhere, capturing the best moments. We have gone through the Gallery Platform with lots of different people, and they are all absolutely blown away by how easy it is to navigate. She managed to capture everyone at the wedding in their own special way. We are over the moon with the result.
Emily blended seamlessly with the guests, and I didn't notice her in the cathedral, but when I looked back over the photos, I realized she was everywhere, capturing the best moments. Incredible photographer with a natural & relaxed approach!
I cannot recommend Emily enough, she really is an amazing photographer and our wedding photos have exceeded all of my expectations.
We wanted a more relaxed approach to our photos, and Emily's style fit this perfectly. She made us feel so comfortable throughout the day, and knows exactly what to suggest to capture the perfect photo without making poses look forced. We had such a good time getting our photos taken together.

Amazing, exactly what we hoped for and more!
Emily was absolutely amazing throughout our whole wedding process, from very early planning stages to the end of the evening reception. She was always so accommodating, responsive and helpful with everything that we asked for, and she was so helpful on the run up with lots of tips & tricks to ensure the day ran smoothly. We are totally in love with our wedding photos and wouldn’t have picked anyone else to capture our day!
